Hi! I will do little review about Victorinox Tourist. Tourist is a 84mm SAK, basically 84mm version of Spartan. According to Victorinox it has 12 tools: large blade, can opener with small flathead screwdriver, small blade, bottle opener with large flathead screwdriver and wire stripper, corkscrew, punch, tweezers, toothpick and keyring. Large blade is about 55mm long, small blade is about 35mm. I have used this knife a lot in different situations: for whittling, cleaning fish, peeling potatoes, mushrooming... Once I even used this knife for skinning roe deer because I forgot my puukko home. I must say this little knife is very durable. Blade sharpening is very easy and it holds edge quite well. In my opinion this is very good choice for EDC. Also it is very cheap knife. For example in my country it costs about 16 to 18 EUROs. Great little companion!

I just picked up one of these used on the auction site cause I wanted something smaller to carry that has the cork screw so I can carry the mini screwdriver on. Once I clean it up, sharpen it up alittle it will go in my pocket! :D

Thanks for the review. I have the Bantam (84mm, 1 layer); I think it is a great knife.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of replacement scales for the Tourist? The ones on my used one are kinda rough! :D

Sir_mike, contact to dealer or importer in your country. I have ordered many SAK scales from importer. Ordinarily I just send them e-mail that I need new scales and they send it by post for free.

Hi svahi -

Nice review and excellent pictures!

Thanks for posting.

Where do you have snow at this time of the year?

Thanks! This snowy pictures are made few monts ago. I`m located in Estonia, near to Finland and Russia.

If I had to get rid of all my pocketknives except one, I'd keep my Tourist. Very pocketable and has all the tools you need for EDC. I've had mine for 10+ years and it's going strong.

I just noticed that my Tourist doesnt have the lanyard ring. Is this a older version or what? The first pic shows the used one I am referring to and the second pic is new one I picked up earlier. What is the difference between the two? Any info is much appreciated. Thx. :D

Yes, one variation was produced without keyring. Which "Victorinox" logo is on your older Tourist scales?

Is the keyring attachment on all 84mm models part of the aluminum liner, or is the Tourist's formed from the SS backspring, as on the standard-sized models?

Yes, on 84mm models it`s part of the aluminium liner.

Thanks, svahi!

Even though I prefer the smoother steel keying attachments, you've got me wanting a Tourist! I really like the Spartan, and being a bit smaller version, the Tourist will carry that much easier. Plus, I'm sure the corkscrew will still carry the same-sized eyeglass screwdriver.
