Got an email announcing the release of the victorinox venture. Looks like a capable “bushcrafter”, more importantly to me is that victorinox released something new, and it looks like a good general purpose fixed blade at an approachable price point.

They list the steel as 14C28N, which is different for Vic, instead of just specifying “Inox”.

I did a quick search and didn’t see any current threads on this, so thought I would start one and let you folks know it exists.

I could see myself getting one of these at some point, ultiltarian design and I expect typical Vic quality. The sheath also seems to have had a lot of thought put into it, or at least it has a lot of extra bits, whether that’s good or not is yet to be seen.

Their website says 75 dollars wich probably translates to 75 euros (?). Sounds a bit steep if so.

I wonder if they are actually made im Swizerland unlike their previous outdoors knife?

According to the website, it states “made in Switzerland”
At first I felt that $75 for knife and $115 (for the upgraded sheath which includes Tex loc, firesteel, tweezers, ect.) seemed expensive for a victorinox, but inflation has hit everything, and now $100 doesn’t buy much at all, even the mass produced regular Vic models have gone up. $75-$100 doesn’t seem outrageous given that I trust Victorinox quality above all other brands.
For that price, you know you will get a quality and consistent product, sight unseen, with a lifetime warranty, and made in a country with a high standard of living.

The standard sheath option looks like it would flop around a bit, not like a dangler, but I don’t see a strap to secure handle to sheath top, so I can imagine it wanting to lay down in the hip, which would drive me insane.
Looking like if I pick this model up sometime, it’s gonna be the “pro” model with the the upgraded sheath.
Unless someone buys the regular model and reports that it doesn’t do what I think it will looking at the pics.

Just watched a (french) youtuber's exclusive review on this knife, and yes the reviewer is very enthusiastic for the knife. But the retention in the sheath is not very good. (I don't think Felix Immler pointed this?)
So let's see some other reviews.

Interesting. If it's not too pricey, I might pick one up for the kitchen as it strikes me as more of a culinary knife than a bushcraft blade. 14C28N (likely from Sandvik) is good stuff. Too bad Victorinox doesn't upgrade its Fibrox line to 14C28N instead of the uninspiring 1.4110 it currently uses.

I saw this peel across my YouTube, and I had to look it up. Looks pretty interesting. Price at 75 bucks seems reasonable. Full Flat Grind, looks to me and a decent steel!

Love the 1/4” hex in the handle. That’d be a great screw driver in a pinch.

Came across this today as well, it doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary but probably going to be a good solid knife.

75 isn't a bad price either which seems pretty fair to me.

Turns out they sell various packages with the knife. One includes a drill bit that fits the hex on the knife. That’s some pretty clever thinking.
The $50 kit that comes with it all is pretty cool. Can't say as I would ever bow drill but it's neat that they implemented the sharpening system and everything with the kit.

I think this is a piece of hardware for drilling holes in wood. A little different than a bow drill.

Or am I missing something?

Amazing!

Love (almost) everything about it...let's hope they'll release an orange handle version soon! I hope the handle is big enough for big hands.

Not the biggest fan of the exposed tang but i can see why they're making it.
