Helo everyone! Alright im going to get straight to the pointy part of things, but before I do I must warn you the nerd meter is through the roof in this post, but still bare with me cause I need some help. Alright so I have not been collecting for very long and I only have 5 knifes to show for, but still it is a very fun hobby! So the last day I was playing the very popular video game called Red ded redemtion 2, and I saw that the main charachter had what seemed to be a very nice bowie knife. And so I searched for something similiar but I am yet to find a good option. Here are some pictures on the knife in the game (sorry for poor quality). So the blade should be about 8-10 inches and I cant pay more than 150$ for the knife since I am currently a broke student, I am thankfull for any help!

Looked at that first image from the game and I don't see that blade being 8-10 inches.

Linder still makes "Original Bowie Knife" models in a variety of sizes, etc.... They even sell blade blanks and guards if you want to make your own. Those are what that pic reminds me of, they were and are a popular pattern for Western tv shows and movies to use.

A lot of similar knives out there, but haven't found one yet that has what appears to be a bolster behind the guard.
The grind is hard to tell from the game pics as well.

Gonna be tough to find something in the flesh. RDR2 is a blast:) It's the first Rockstar game I have completed in a long time. Love the setting, the graphics, the writing, etc. I will say, Arthur's bowie seems more functional for skinning that John's saw-back looking thing in the first game:p

Here's my friendly advise as someone who was in your position 100,000 years ago...check out the Cold Steel Trailmaster. Classic bowie shape, tough as nails, in your price range, modern materials that are easy to care for. Not only a great bang for your buck, but just a great knife in general.

I think a close option would be the von tempsky bowie by svord it comes it two sizes 6.5 inch blade and a 11.5 inch blade. Your can find them for around 175.00.

A.G. Russell Field Knife would give you a modern take on this piece.

Their Shopmade California Bowie might be closer to the period look you were after...

The Condor Undertaker Bowie is within your price range...

The ol' Winchester Bowie has always been a cheaper way to get a big slab of fixed blade...

Or go really cheap, get a kit and fix it up to look just like you want it...

With the Bowie knife market, your choices expand exponentially as your budget increases.

I bet if you tossed that drawing into our crew of fine knifemakers on this forum, one of them would brew it up for you.

OP,I found a better picture for the knife that you posted. In the game I believe it is called "Hunting Knife".

I've been playing that game a bit too and the knife was one of the first items I customized haha.

Check out this one from Condor: https://www.bladehq.com/item--Condor-Undertaker-Bowie-Fixed-Blade--68099
In this image of the hunting knife it does look like the Condor Undertaker.

I don't know who John is but "John's knife" does kinda look like the Trailmaster from Cold Steel.

In RDR he has some sort of saw back looking monstrosity.

I like the Cold Steel Laredo Bowie as the stand in. It’s geared more towards fighting than skinning, but I know I got into quite a few knife fights in RDR2. Damn O’Driscoll’s.
