Update:

I was hoping to do a run of the modern Viking Swords.

I really, really, like this design!!! . . . No, really!

However, after some careful consideration of other projects that we are currently working on, it's going to be a while before we can fit these into our production schedule.

So, with that in mind, we will be putting this project on hold for the time being.

Let's Drink!

Below is a closeup of the handle that shows the Nuclear Meltdown Treatment with its rounded outer perimeter.

I'm glad you went with the "modern" style.

I'll be picking one up if the price is right 🍻

Let me pick a Blown Deadline Cerakote and I'll grab a few! 😂

Please don't make it a 2 hander. Most viking swords were not 2 handed.

Plus less infi, less work, more affordable

I'm just hoping for the length to be comparable to the HNWS and not the FMV14.
OAL: 22.875" +
Blade Length: 16" +

I suppose I need to see basic specs and determine if this is similar to a FM14 with a different handle or not.

Also If its 0.21” stock or less I personally cannot justify spending the $1000+

The MOAB for example was justified due to its complete departure from the standard in almost all specs and overall ridiculousness.

So, if you make an educated assumption based on the line drawing, here is what I am estimating. Blade is ~4.3x of the grip, OAL is ~6x grip.

If you assume the grip length is 4.5", measured about halfway up the radius at each end, then I get a best guess estimated blade length of 19.5", and OAL of 27".

I'd bet good money that this estimate is within 10%-12% of the actual measurements (probably even closer), if the sword is built based upon that line drawing.

So, minimum of ~17.5" blade, OAL of 24". Maximum of 22" blade, OAL of 30".

That’s some solid napkin math SpyderPhreak

I guess it comes down to the thickness of stock for me at least. If it’s anything close to the Gladius, that would be awesome.

This would be a user. Very eager to destroy and pillage if this is robust enough.

Thanks. Lol, the engineer brain never shuts off.

I can't imagine it's not going to be ~.2"-.21" thick.

solid thinking,

but I would guess/hope the grip is at least 5" :) for us larger handed folks

FMV14 grip is about 5.5
Old Gladius is 6" between up-swept parts.

So may be even longer :)

Older Gladius appears to have a longer handle, one more rivet.

Yeah, the swords are usually a bit wider, thus my accounting for the 10-12% possible difference (5" is 11% bigger). ;) I agree, would love it to be on the larger side of my estimate! :D

ETA - I think a 22" blade and 30" OAL would be the longest Busse sword offering since the Butanikus (sp?).
