I'm considering several viking swords, but not sure which one...I'd appreciate any advice or comments anyone has.

Albion Del tin ADT2100:http://www.albionarmorers.com/swords/deltin/dt2100.htm
Albion Del tin ADT2103:

Cold Steel Viking sword: http://www.1sks.com/store/cold-steel-viking-sword.html

Pros for the Del tins are that I know the quality and construction of them. Pro for the Cold Steel is that it comes with a scabbard. I would like to have a scabbard for the sword, but the Del tins do not come with one, and Albion's scabbards are listed at around $200. On the other hand, Albion is considering doing some basic scabbards for the Del tins, though I dont know how much these would run for. I'm tempted to go with one of the Del tins, but I would like to hear what you guys think. I want something that'll look good on a wall, but I want to be able to do some real cutting with it too. Thanks!

My vote is for none of the above, instead go with this one:

You can find it at www.armor.com This is a much higher quality sword then the del tins in my opinion (and has a higher price too). As for the cold steel sheaths I don't know if the one for my Grosse Messer was a typical example or not but the fit on that thing was terrible. Fortunately I know this guy...

I've looked at that one, its a bit out of my price range...thanks anyways though.

if I did not have incomming custom toys I would love to pick up another Kris Cutlery...I have cut plastic bottles and 4 taped together pool noodles and this baby can cut...you have many options out there for Viking swords and Lutel is another excellent option not only in fit/finish which is on par if not better then the Del Tin but the Lutel also comes with a leather scabbard and belt of your choice, if you order a Lutel let them know you want it sharp otherwise it will come with a blunt edge.

Ditto on the lutel, NIcer then the del tin methinks, also cheaper, comes with a scabbard. Contact art etwell if you live stateside Also the second deltin with teh brass/bronze fittings, the blade digs in and wears away at teh base of teh guard with use. Itll be ok for a wallhanger but I wouldnt reccomend it as a user sword for this reason. I have seen this happen myself on my friends one. I know albion re-hilts them so it may not be an issue in this case.

Cheers
