Is there a vintage Michigan pattern single bit axe in a 2-2.5 lb boys axe size? My favorite sentimental axe is a Michigan pattern. My Cruiser weight double bit is Michigan pattern. Once I started learning about axe patterns I discovered Michigan pattern is the only pattern in both single and double bits. Last Christmas my wife got me a 3.5 lb Collins Michigan pattern single bit . A boys size Michigan pattern would be great to have

There's a ton of them! I've got several myself. Here's one;15645329838334835327326593985346.jpg A craftsman on the original stick. The wedge and half wedge are available in sb and db as well. But I know what you mean. The western pattern appears to be a double sided Dayton. At least that I can see. I'm sure you'll find a Michigan boy's axe soon!
Edit; I'm not sure how this works but I'd be open to trading you for something if you're interested? The toe is slightly worn as I didn't reprofile this one just sharpened the edge that was there. There's also a slight bend to the haft but that's rectified easily. Here's a few more;15645334912849002721611754932081.jpg 15645335764394090059952929859970.jpg 15645336025187986804924152896963.jpg 15645337185747561467808276239613.jpg 15645337558843168941882480391760.jpg
Let me know man! Trading sounds like fun. I have yet to do it!

Michigan and Dayton are the only Boy's axe head patterns I have ever found. Has anyone (J B) ever found a Jersey, Kentucky, Rockaway, or any Boys axe with lugs?

Craftsman is a good one to look for in this size and pattern. Good quality and reasonable price.

This is one of my favorite axes. Original haft with a nice swell.

Square_peg, I don’t know if this was the one you were thinking of but it’s just shy of 3lbs and has a boys axe eye.

3lb Duquesne Jersey pattern with a boy's axe eye on a 28". New truck/use axe to replace the beloved Red Ridge Eye.

That axe of quintons sure is a nice one, too bad about the polishing of the head and the blue paint but he did great work on the haft and sheath for sure.
