Hi all! I'm a pocket knife "acquirer". Don't call myself a collector, as I use them. That said, I was recently going through my dads old toolbox and found this Buck 110. In doing some research it appears that it's from the 1967-1972 era? I've attached a few pics below. It appears this things seen a wire wheel a time or two, and while in "useable" shape, I'd have to call this thing a solid user. I've wiped it down, but haven't tried bringing any of the luster back, as I enjoy the patina.

I guess a few questions... What's the approximate value on something like this? Is it worth sending back to Buck for service? Would this be considered pretty common, or collectible?

Finally, is there anything I should know about this model?

Thank you in advance to all you Buck experts. Generally I'm found in the Chris Reeve Knives section, and many of the FaceBook groups. However, time has told me all the 'old school' knowledge is best gathered here on BF!

You're right about the time frame.
To discuss monetary value you need to have a gold membership or higher.
That said, being it was your dad's, I would say the sentimental value would be priceless!
I wouldn't do a thing to it. I'd find an old sheath and wear it. JMHO

Thanks pjsjr pjsjr - I agree, I'm not looking to sell, as you said, sentimentally it's worth more to me than what I'd be offered.

Is this era of Buck 110 commonly referred to as something? Maybe like a "3 pin"? This can help me research more about it :)

I keep a running spreadsheet of my knives in case something were to happen to me, my family would know the difference between my high end knives vs standard knives.

This data sheet will hopefully be what you need.

It's called a 2 pin, the rocker is not counted only the scale rivets are counted. I'd send it to Buck for a SPA treatment it cost about $8 it will come back looking like new, the patina will come back with time. You could just leave it as is and enjoy the scratch's and dents your dad put on it.

Thank you for providing the common name for this era! In looking at the data sheet above i'm having trouble making heads/tails of it. I don't have the sheath or box, and not being that familiar with Buck's, it is getting overwhelming trying to determine the version/variation. Not that big of a deal, I just like to have the info for my spreadsheet.

At this point I'm happy to have been able to narrow it down to '67-'72!
