Does anyone know some history about Coast Cutlery? I'm assuming they are the original US company that became the cheap Chinese stuff at Home Depot.

I know a guy that's interested in this one, but we can't find anything on the web.

From the looks of it, Linder or Wingen was the contractor for it, probably Linder. It was a limited edition of 150 knives, retail $299 in early 1994.

Can't help. But appreciate the photos. Coast is another US company that use to sell good stuff from Solingen and Seki.
But has now gone the way of Yangjiang.

Coast is still an American based family business. They got their start making and selling knives for salmon fishermen in 1919, and remained a relatively small time west coast business until after WW2. After WW2 ended they began to expand the business, and over the years several American makers produced knives for them. In the 1980s Coast began selling to big box retailers and started sourcing product from overseas.
