Virus school closures

most of the corporate eateries here have shut off dining in. only drive up and take out or free delivery being done. state hasn't stopped it........yet, corporate/chains doing it on their own.

I expect more shut downs as time goes on.

Kansas City has shut down everything public with 50 or more people. The exceptions being businesses (employees), hospitals, and daycare centers. Some restaurants keeping skeleton staff for carry out/delivery.

BUCK has closed the factory store and no visitors are allowed at the plant----hopefully they can stay healthy and keep up production...
I called Buck yesterday about a return that had yet to be processed.
The rep in that department told me he was the only one there in that department.....but he had it, just hadn't processed it yet.
That's cool, you got it. That's all that matters.

Let's give everyone struggling to maintain our lives a break.

I've been taking spring break off the last few years and we usually do some family amusement park type stuff, my wife, daughters, and son. Then my son and myself go to the deer camp (3000 acres of rough mountains) for a few days. Looks like the deer camp will be it this year. Noticed alot of hog sign so we're going to sit in stands and hog hunt, do some small mouth bass fishing and scout for turkeys. With the money saved by not going out to eat and hotels and amusement parks, we'll make it up to the girls when everything opens up and gets back to normal.

Yep. A group of us had a day planned around touring the factory tomorrow but obviously that has been canceled. Completely understand and we can just reschedule when things settle back down.

Be safe and well all.

That's why I joined this family. It impressed me enough to stay.

I remember my dad carrying a woodsman and or a 110 hunting from when I was a very small child. Always thought they were cool, but I bought my first Buck around 1995 I believe. It had the card in the box about God being the senior partner and John 3:16. That meant enough to me to try to support them by buying their knives when I could ever sense. I've probably given away as many as I've kept for myself. As long as the Buck family owns the company and keeps supporting Christian values and America, I will do everything I can do to support them. :D

The Kansas governor has closed all schools and activities for the remainder of this school year. That’s sad news for the kids especially the seniors. This is looking like a rough stretch of road and I hope people will use some common sense and learn to deal with this in a positive way. It will certainly test our resolve.
Both of my parents endured the depression and the dirty thirties in the heart of it in cimarron county Oklahoma when they were young with many youngsters dying of dust pneumonia and then following those hardships World War II with my dad serving in the South Pacific island hopping until the Japanese surrender. They had just received their briefing to go to the main land Japan when the news came. That generation was severely tested in times of pre modern conveniences. During the 1930s on the high plains they had to gather cow chips to use for cooking and heat, no indoor plumbing, coal oil lamps for lighting, no tv, just a radio that worked only 20% of the time so they had to entertain themselves. There were many other illnesses back then and the medical profession and services was still lagging behind the metropolitan areas then. I hope we can endure these times as well as that generation did in their time. They were some tough people.

Florida canceled all schools today till April. What I'm really afraid of is as cases ramp up (and it will) it will not return to any 'normal' levels till next year at best. Unemployment is projected to be over 20% in Florida because of so many service jobs..If you can't find any masks Kathy's Dad made this homemade one with a couple of paper towels and 2 rubber bands..20200312_185206.jpg 20200312_185206.jpg 20200312_185151.jpg

state closed the bars and night clubs for 30 days tonight. seminoles closed the poker rooms in the casinos.

I expect by end of this week or next I'll be closed down too....is what it is. everyone stay safe out there.

Don't wait for the word, just stay home. Tell others to stay home. No doubt this virus is further along than reported. If you must go out take every measure to protect yourself. Keep your distance from people, don't touch anything, wash your hands, don't touch your face.

And don't forget to pray for those that must work, and those that wish they could and the businesses that truly need to, to survive.

Crazy times guys. My dealership is still open just in case the wealthy folk need their vehicles worked on, but I'm not going to complain since the paychecks are still coming. Most people here are a little pissed cause they don't want to be in harms way, and I'm on board with that. I'm pretty lucky with the kids being out of school because my future ex-wife works nights so she can have the kiddos during the day.

cant. need to help my folks keep getting paid until they cant. I know Disney and home depot etc did 2 weeks pay, but what happens after that? turns into a 2weeks severance? maybe govt will come through? until then, cdc guidelines and safety and earning a paycheck for my people...so they can help themselves....the ones who want to, of course.

big chunk of this state is tourism...close to 30 or 40%. they are all out of work and struggling already. it's all bad......

Recent studies are showing limited improvement with school closures. I predict over the next few weeks we may see less school closures, and possibly a consideration to amend the schedule to reopen some closed schools.

Good on ya JB. And I think you hit it on the head...the virus itself isn't even the scariest part anymore...
