Hi folks -

Here are some of my pictures - I hope you enjoy them -

On to the signing - it was held in the "Lindberg Room"

They had something new (to me) - you could get your bottle engraved! I had TSA logos and my name/plot number engraved on some bottles.
What you see here is the laser engraver putting a TSA logo on a bottle of Unaged Rye -

At the Bottle Shop, they were selling 2012 Ducks Unlimited, Master Distiller 1, Unaged Rye, 160 Birthday, and 2012 Holiday Select bottles.

My friend and fellow Tennessee Squire, Mike, invited Maggie and I back to his house just off the square in Lynchburg - Mike's wife, Beth, had some delicious-smelling pork cooking, and Mike has a collection that could easily start a museum!

Mike has a ton of documentation, as well as a great (and large) collection of bottles and such. Here is a letter from Winton Smith to the then retired Jessie Gamble, informing Mr. Gamble of his induction into the TSA -

And Mr. Gamble's TSA Deed - glad to see they were the same as the one I received just over 10 years later -

It was a very busy day at the Distillery, and there were many tours going, even though it was only just at freezing. Here were are at the cave spring and the statue of Mr. Jack, with our tour guide, Bettie Patton -

We made our way over to Miss Mary Bobo's for a splendid meal - we ate in the Evans Room on this visit.

As we ate, it began to snow fairly hard!

Back over to the Visitor's Center, to get another bottle engraved and to visit the Squire Room - which, by the way, the gift was a 2013 TSA shot and on the rocks glass - very nice!

In the Squire's Room - I wanted to get this shot, as this is a logo in the Sinatra Select pamphlet - and the story of where it was first seen -

Our Squire Lady, Mina, shows off a metal sign of SOB, that was sent to her by a fellow Squire.

There were, sadly, no Sinatra Select bottles to be had anywhere, but plenty of Unaged Rye.

Maggie and I met some great people, and had a great time, packing a lot of fun into a three day weekend.

Very cool, I hope to go there one day, not just for the booze either, it really is a true piece of americana, thanks for sharing

That looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing, Andy.

very cool, I know so little about this subject it's shameful. Thanks for sharing the pictures, glad you had a good time.

Very interesting Andy. I like the history. And great pics, as usual. Now, i know i could look it up, but what is the Tennessee Squires' Association?

TSA is an invitation only fellowship of people who have shown a devotion for and appreciation of Jack Daniels Charcoal Mellowed Whiskey.

The only way to become a member today is to be nominated by an existing TSA member.

The TSA was started in the mid 1950s as a way to keep customers informed on the availability of Product when there was more demand than the folks at Jack Daniels could supply. Squires are deeded a plot of land at the Distillery, and are honorary citizens of Moore County Tn. The plot is not marked, and is rather part of the Squires field, although the joke is often that if you stand on your plot, you will also be standing on several other plots.

I have been a Squire since 1982, and I have been to the Distillery many times, including on my Honeymoon.

I have personally nominated a few people over the years, but I do take it seriously and I will quiz a prospect on their knowledge of the Product.

Frank Sinatra was a Squire.

More than you wanted to know, but there it is!

Very interesting. I had never heard of the TSA before.

It looks like a great way to spend a long weekend.

Great photos as always, Andy.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Cooper!

Looks like a real nice way to spend a weekend, thanks for sharing. I really miss the trips Connie and I used to take, maybe someday.

Great trip! I've always wanted to go. I gotta say it would kind of drive me nuts not to be able to have a drink at the Jack Daniels distillery though. That's still a dry county isn't it?

It is a dry county, but that does not mean you can't have a sippy-cup with some Product in it. ;^)

It has been to Deadhorse AK, Barr Harbor Maine, Key West Fl, and all parts in between.

I guess I need to get it out to Baja California. ;^)
