I started picking up a few Brend fixed blade Knives, after meeting Walter a few years ago.
Am trying to educate myself on his older work and their values and am not finding much information.
Does it make much of a difference to collectors where and when his knives are made?
Walterboro SC, Cullman Co AL, Ridge Springs SC, Etowah TN?
Or is it pretty much knife specific? Am posting this as I have not seen much / any info on this.
Am thinking it doesn't really matter but I wanted to ask anyway.

Thanks

Found this old thread...........
A bit surprised there was zero response.
I guess things run hot and cold.
Post pic's if you like.
Photo's for interest.

Nice Brend but I’m not wild about molar-based handle materials....

Walter and his family are a fine bunch and there are many followers and collectors of his work but pieces don’t seem to come up as often as they used to.

Right, and when they do come up prices are all over the board.
I am always looking, and do find quite a few. The hardest part for me is
figuring out current pricing on older models.

We were at Blade 2014 and picked up the mammoth molar.
Just something different. Wanted to mix it up a bit.
Looks better in person... I am always looking for something a bit different.
Lots of nice Micarta out there. But also like other materials. Disregard the compound on the pins.

Bobby Branton has one of their colab Proto’s in the Sale Area here...a price check for you?

Nice! Mr. Brend and Ron Gaston were two of the stock removal guys whose work really caught my eye in the early 90's when I first started looking at stuff other than Randall's.

Yep, I got sucked in back when I was picking up Vero Beach Microtech's.
Late 90's early 2000's. But did not do much about it till I met him in 2012.
Helped him out with a few things & he made me a model 2 for my effort.
That pretty much set the hook.
Since then have always kept an eye out for his work.

Nice ram horn! Best dagger in the business!

Have a Walterboro SC, SID in the mail to me today.
I don't have much info on the 1981-2004 knives.
Bought a #5 Proto Mamba folder when they came out in 2013.
Wonder if #7 is the same / proto? Or a numbered run of some other type?
