Warranty transferrable

I feel like this is a question a should know the answer to, but I just can't seem to find it in print anywhere: is Spyderco's warranty transferrable? That is, if I buy a used one, can I send it in for a $5 sharpening?

Oh, next question, too: if I can get a used SE Delica for cheap, but would rather have it PE, is it a good idea to try to smooth it out myself, like this guy ? On ATS-55 with a Lansky kit- will it take a terribly long time?

Thanks!

I've sent in knives I've bought used. No problem, they don't ask you for a receipt.

IMO, it's not worth the time and effort to converst a SE to PE. But a PE, you'll be happier witht he results too.
