I am looking for some recommendations for someone to help with either water jet or laser cutting for a Knife Rights fundraising project we are working on. Some fairly fine detail involved. Best would be a specific company owner I could speak with. Thanks for your help.

Thanks to everyone for your recommendations. Had a good talk with Mark.

Thanks for the referrals fellas
Glad to help for a great cause!

I have some sheets of 3/16 D2. They are appox. 12"x39" and I would like them waterjet cut into blanks. I have 2 standard patterns that I would like to have some sheets cut into. Could you suggest a free or inexpensive program that I could use to convert these into a file you can use. Jim

Jim,

I just had a bunch of blanks cut by leading edge and had some major problems with my CAD files. I am a beginner in CAD but here's what worked for me. The best way to do it from what I learned is to download Draftsight 2D for free, check out some tutorials on youtube and draw your knives in the program. Make sure you are drawing in Inches and save your file as a DXF. Also DON'T USE SPLINES. Draw only in polylines and arcs. I learned this one the hard way when I drew my knives with all splines and none of them rendered properly.
