I've been looking for a barn jacket for some time. Since it rains horribly here, I'd like it o be waxed cotton, or oilskin. The problem I'm running into, is that the ones I find are also fleece lined; It is far too hot for a lined jacket here. Any body know where I can find what I'm a' lookin' for?

I was going to suggest an arctic extreme work coat by carhart.....until I saw your location :foot:
Thats what I wear all winter here. The outside is Cordura instead of the normal carhart material. Makes it shed water real well, and it holds up great. Has a 2 way zipper so I can unzip it from the bottom when I riding my horse. The arctic weight lining might be a problem down there in florida though:rolleyes:
You might see if they have any lighter weight jackets with the same cordura material though. Its held up really well for me, and its alot more breathable than a normal raincoat which might help with the heat.

I have had a Border jacket for about ten years. Liner for winter but it's comfortable in the summer. Utterly practical - pockets for everything including game.

I' ve used Kakadu Traders, Australian Outback, and Barbour oilskin/ wax coats. All only lined with light cotton or flannel to help minimize the "wax" from coming thru. With only a sweatshirt underneath in the cold weather, I still sweat like I' m in the summer! :( Maybe it' s just me. But if you heat up easily then this type jacket is not for you! Sorry if I' ve upset your cautious equilibrium. :D

easy - get a drizabone, (www.drizabone.com.au) i have the short coat and the full length one and i love them they are expensive but they will last for years. when i last saw my cousin he still has his and its 10 years old, it looks worn but still has many years left in it
