I currently use WD-40 to clean my blades and lubricate my knives but I was just wondering if RemOil is any better than WD-40. Or what is your other favorite lubricant please enlighten me.

I use RemOil; it seems to work as well as WD-40 and smells a whole lot less offensive.

WD-40 is good for cleaning and displacing water to prevent rust, but it really isn't a very good long-term lubricant. Rem-Oil with Teflon hangs around and keeps working for much longer.

As has already been said, wd 40 is not a lubricant. "WD" stands for water displacement.

WD 40 also attracts a lot of dust and grim that Rem oil does not. In addition it only lubricated for the short term because of that. I rather spend the extra dollar and get the spray can of rem oil.

WD40 dries into a sticky mess, go with rem oil or food grade mineral oil if you are using the knife for food.

best one I've found is tuff-glide for moving parts and tuff cloth for steel protection...good enough for Navy Seals good enough for me!

G96 all the way. Cleans, lubricates, and protects. I use it on my guns, knives, tools and reels. But I do keep a bottle of Remoil on hand, the smell reminds me of my late grandfather's workshop/basement. And it does get the job done.

I agree. I use WD40 to remove the crapola that collects in my folders and after I was the knife off, I apply Hoppe's Oil. I may try Militec if I get the chance though. WD40 just seems too thin, though it has to be better than the 3-in-1 stuff. I have to admit I really dislike that product for doing anything.
