Dear Friends and Customers,
It is with a heavy heart that i must inform you that after 36 years, Himalayan Imports can no longer continue. We have closed the Online Store. Effective as of December 31st, 2024, Himalayan Imports will cease all operations as a business due to ongoing issues with multiple services, shipping issues, credit card fraud and other logistics making it impossible to maintain such a business.

I have limited at stock at this time, if you know what you want and wish to place an order you may contact me at himimp@aol.com.

It was my hearts desire that Uncle Bill's legacy be maintained for as long as i was able to do so, unfortunately, time is not kind and i am no longer able to maintain the business as i once did. Please know that i wish this day had not come and it is a wonderful miracle that it lasted this long, but It is time for me to retire.
It has been a pleasure to serve and interact with you. Without you his dream and legacy would not have gone on all these years in his memory. For that i am very grateful. More than you could ever know. Thank you all for your patience, love and support through all these years. It has been wonderful.

Sad that this day has to come but totally understandable. Yangdu has done a tremendous job of keeping the company running. Working diligently and with much hardship to support her family and us he customers.

I'll miss this forum as well, lot of good people here now and have passed thru in the past.
 
I've bought so many HI kukri for gifts... this is an understandable, but still sad, announcement.

I hope the kami's will have other work or be able to work for another shop?

I salute your awesome efforts and longevity in what can only be described as a labor of love. Enjoy the retirement... you've absolutely earned it!
 
So sorry to read this Yangdu. I will always have fond memories of Uncle Bill and and the HI crew from my time on this sub-forum in years past, and the meet-up we had in South FL years ago.

I will continue to treasure the khuks in my small collection.

Time indeed is not kind. It pains me greatly to read this and though I am a newer member on the forum, I am old enough to remember Himalayan Imports in its heyday in the early 2000’s and always considered the company and everyone involved to be the best in the business, period. It is bittersweet but I am very glad that Himalayan Imports sustained such incredible customer service and product quality all the way to the very end. Thank you everyone, and especially Yangdu and all the kamis, sheath makers, logistics persons, and so on that were involved in this little miracle.
 
Dear Yangdu, Best wishes for a wonderful retirement! You certainly deserve it!
It has been a great pleasure participating in this forum and acquiring many khukuris. Indeed, it was HI that led me to join bladeforums over a decade ago, when I bought my first khukuri from you - a sirupati that I still have.
It makes me sad to hear that HI is closing as a business, and I hope that the forum will continue as a resource for those interested in khukuris
