It is my pleasure to announce that I have joined forces with Allen Surls, Dirk Loots, and Joey Berry and bought Pops Knife Supply. We have spent the last few weeks building shelving and prepping the new space for the move in. On Friday, we closed on the business, and we have been hard at it unpacking since we got back. The good news is that its starting to look like a hardware store around here.
I have always bought my belts and steel from James and Kay. James is something of a legend here in Georgia. Not only did he run the supply business, but he was also an accomplished knifemaker. If you spot a Pop marked knife, take a good look. His work was so clean it makes me shake my head. Pop spent a lot of time coaching me on which belts to use when I was a new maker and he earned my business by putting up with me. He has been a resource to many of us I'd assume during his 40 plus years running Pops.
I hope y'all are as excitecd about this as I am. I promise to continue to turn out Fiddleback Forge knives each week. My career is getting much longer days, but is not turning from making knives.
