Howdy BF!

Disclamer; In no way am I bashing WE or Blade HQ just asking for ideas and help. I fully understand a few fall outside QC measures and I have always had great experiences with both companies.

Anyone that has a WE Evoke please let me know if you have experienced this...

I received a We Evoke for Christmas and I love the look, ergos and everything. But it has a couple issues and I don't know what to do. I have watched all the reviews and nobody seems to talk about these issues.

- Issue 1 is the detent is very weak and I can shake it open like if you are using a ketchup bottle. I do not know if the detent is normal for this model. Also, you can hear it rattle as I believe the blade is coming in and out of the detent hole while you shake it. Light shaking like maybe a pepper shaker and it stays in place. This knife is tip up carry and will surely open in my pocket which concerns me. The thumb stud action is fine but its pretty hard to front flip which I do not care about as much its more the safety concerns.

- Issue 2 is the pocket clip is milled titanium and extremely tight(cannot get it over jeans unless you pry it up with your finger while pushing it over the seam). You can even see a slight bow in the clip as it rests on the body/scale of the knife. The tolerances were definitely off while machining.

I can sand a few thousands off the clip and polish it but I have not had much luck fixing light detents. I looked at the WE warranty page and if I disassemble the knife it voids the warranty. I would prefer not to send it in for warranty work if possible(I doubt they will fix the detent). I want to call blade HQ and see about possibly returning/exchange for the same model but since it was a gift I doubt that's possible.

How has WE's warranty process been for those that have used it?

I love my Evoke - great detent. Also just swapped the bearings out for some Skiff bearings as I do every flipper I have.

Detent was great - not too strong, not too weak.

I remove every pocket clip off every knife I get, so cannot speak to that.

Just send it back to BHQ for a replacement. It’s not a $35 Kershaw - you should be thrilled with any WE product, not disappointed.

WOW, so I just talked to BladeHQ and they are sending me a return label. I explained the situation and what was wrong and no questions asked took care of me.

Unfortunately, they are out of the tiger strip evoke so I am pretty bummed. Needless to say they won my business so going forward excellent company and customer service!

Thank you BF for the help!

Cheers,
Matt
