I'm bored, so strange things are running through my mind. I have a partner and kids, but my partner and I aren't married. It will happen sooner rather than later though, assuming I don't mess something up big time. Wedding will likely be small, maybe just us, maybe even in another country. We'd rather spend up on a reception and party for all our friends and family. What better excuse then to spend up on another Busse as a wedding cake knife? It seems like an obvious choice to me. I've seen some people on here post their wedding cake Busse's. Who else has done this? What would be the best one to use? It can't be too over the top or many friends and family with think I'm crazy (crazier!). Would you choose something that you could use again, or is that sacrelidge? All my Busse's are users and it seems a waste to buy one that will only be used once. What say you, Busse-folk?

Chris.

Beats me... I'm single. But Busse does make a great wedding cake knife!

I took the top pic of the knife sitting on the railing of my back deck--it has made the rounds. Originally built for a Busse employee for her wedding cake, and from there I understand the marriage went awry, resulting in the knife being sold. I believe Jerry had the knife on him when attacked by a couple of dogs, which were dealt with severely, resulting in an uninterrupted flow of INFI goodness for all good hogs. It eventually ended up with 1whobuys, from whom I purchased it when he cashed out of a few to buy some high-end body armor which I believe accompanied him on a contractor job in Iraq. I think I finally passed it along to Ed Ricketts here--not positive about that, as it's been a few years. A storied blade for sure.

I bet Rob Stanley would lend his MOAB to a fellow hog tying the knot--you might look into that. Surely that would make an impression with any wedding party. :D

I cut my groom's cake with an Argonne Assault and the Mrs and I cut the wedding cake with an Aftershock Bolo. Unfortunately I sold the Aftershock Bolo few years ago when money was tight.

I sure would like to buy that knife back if anyone has it or knows where it is.

I say cut the cake with whatever Busse knife strikes your fancy

I had the Wedding AK

In April 2009 Walking Man offered that Wedding Knife to me. I declined, and after talking to him, forwarded the offer to a couple of good Hogs. Always wondered what happened to it.

Now that would be cool! Imagine the gasps around the room when you whip that bad boy out to cut the cake!!

The B11 makes a good birthday cake knife...

Busses make the best cake knives. My youngest daughter insists on using one on every birthday.
This was yesterday.

I have used the BJLE, SFNO, CGFBM, MUK and HHFSH as cake cutters, but if I were doing a wedding again it would have to be satin ruk or AK47.

Belated Happy Birthday wishes to your daughter, MMIAM. Beauty, style and great taste in knives--she has it all!

Hmmmm.......I never have used a MOAB for cutting cake but now I have to do it:D:D

I think I have to bake a cake tonight after work:D

The Busse wedding cake knife ... also informally called the Busse Cake Destroyer ... will remain an heirloom of my family, passed on in perpetuity.

Today, it resides in my eldest daughter's snug and happy first home in Cleveland, OH. Not that far from ResinGuy!

The thanks of my entire Clan go out, again, to Jerry Busse for making that heirloom happen.

I have used mine several times in the kitchen.
My long term plan on using it for anniversary, holiday and birthday dinners with my family since I have a few other users to play with in the meantime.

It gave me a good reason to finally get a smooth bolt from the custom shop for my collection AND not feel bad about using it. ;)
