I was hoping somebody might know whether or not these two very similar knives have different thicknesses due to different number of impliments? Google wasn't very helpful (seems to have fallen off as of late!).

Thanks!

Yes they are different thickness. I'm not sure how much of a difference it is as I don't have either and can't check. I'd be guessing about 3mm which seems to be the average of an additional layer. Any time a Vic or Wenger has more tools than a similar model, it has added a layer.

I have the Wenger Ranger 61.
Its about 12/16ths or about 19.5 mm measured up near the button, its thicker (14/16ths or 23mm) in the middle part of the grip.
Considering its only 2 layers that pretty thick.
My Vic OH Trekker (3 layers) is only 11/16ths or 17mm thick.

The Ranger 61 is only slightly thinner than my Vic Outrider which is 13/16ths or 21mm.

I'm glad i didn't buy one of the three or four layer Rangers.
The rangers grips are ergonomic but they do add a lot of bulk.

Also just in case you are a lefty be warned the Rangers thumbhole is mostly blocked by the bottle opener.
The Vic OHT is much more lefty friendly/ambidextrous.

Thanks for all the info! I was considering picking up one of the pocket clipped units from felinevet to try out as a replacement for my Native, but I may just pass on it and wait until I can get the spydie I want.

Get the Vic One Handed Trekker.
I love my Spydercos but i haven't carried them that much since i got the OH Trekker.
If the OH Trekker only had scissors i think it could become my one-knife EDC.
