I have been a fan of Swiss watches since I was a boy. I look forward to any new Swiss watch purchase. Lately, I've been looking for a nice watch with a visible second hand due to my service in the medical industry. What I'd like to do is use my watch all day and then hang it in the dishwasher and douse it with hot, soapy water for an hour or so and consider it clean when the dishwasher stops its gyrations.

Can a Wenger Swiss Military watch hold up under these conditions, or should I dig a little deeper and expect to spend more than $100 for a watch that can perform under these conditions?

Thank you for any replies.

My current watch is WSM #79166

I usually don't take off my watch when I shower -- anything with 30 meter or more water resistance rating is fine, unless of course the seals have deteriorated or it wasn't properly sealed again after changing the battery.

I haven't tried a dishwasher.

Why not just wash the watch off with warm soapy water in the sink instead of the dishwasher routine? I've got a Wenger I do that with from time to time and it never skips a beat. At this point, I've had it about 7 years.

My Wenger Swiss Military watch has a leather band so I've never really submerged it. Nice watch though, if the battery would last longer.
