What’s the deal with Zirconium

Alright, seems like a lot of the knives that are over $750 boast zirconium collars, backspacers, clips etc. I believe it’s extremely easy to scratch and shows wear very easily. What’s the big deal and why do a lot of high end knives use it? I don’t get it.

Easy to scratch? I wouldn’t say that. I have a zirconium wallet that looks great after daily carry for a solid 2-3 years.

The only reason I mentioned easy to scratch is when I was looking at a BBMV2 with a Zirconium pocket clip, the owner said that it had a few scratches and is very easy to scratch.

Idk, it’s really no different than titanium in my experience.

Zirconium oxide is pretty wear resistance compare to other metals but will likely to show some scratch if you carry it regularly.
