I have no interest in carrying automatic knives due to the legality issue but I wouldn't mind carrying a "California-legal" automatic knife. Though I know there is still some grey areas concerning the law this those I'll be willing to take the chance. I figure if I'm going to carry a small blade knife, might as well make it automatic. So if I had to choose one, what do some of you guys recommend?

Thanks.

There are a lot of folders that open as fast or faster than any 'automatic', with less mechanical complication and legality issues, such as BM Axis locks, and any number of liner locks. Why not look at one of those?

I have an Axis-lock knife. Just looking for a small auto.

I like the ProTechs.

Microtech's CA version of the UTX-70 is nice too - if you can find one.

What about the Microtech mini-UDT? (It's out of production but might be considered CA legal)

as long as the blade is under 2", it is ca legal.

and there is no distinction on the mechanism of the auto (switchblade or otf), and balis are considered autos under ca law.

ya the best one i could think of the benchmade benchmite 2 theres a auto version but its not being made anymore so it might be harder to find and the blade is 1.92 inches
