I'm toying with the idea of making knives and viewing catalogs with all the different supplies might help give me an idea of what I'm getting myself into as far as pricing. Can you recommend a knife supply company that sells a wide variety of supplies like steel, micarta, fasteners and screws, knife grinders and belts, kydex, rivets, stuff like that? I'm interested in reputable companies with high quality products.

The stickys has a list of many of them.

The ones that come to mind are:
US Knifemaker's supply
Texas Knifemaker's supply
Jantz
Sheffield
Alpha
K&G Knifemaking supply
New Jersey Steel Baron - (steel source for many makers)

No one place carries everything. Wait until you start building your own machines. I searched for 3 hours last night for a 6x2 drive/contact wheel with a 5/8"bore and keyway. I couldnt find one in any durometer. I think i am going to have to custom order one.

Bummer! Is it an off brand grinder or something?

I'm a big fan of USA knifemaker. Good prices on steel, very reasonable shipping options, and a large variety of inventory to look through. Not so great for wood but other than that they have pretty much everything one could need.

Thanks I just ordered their catalog.

knifekits has a great website, good selection of kydex stuff

If you want small pieces of titanium and micartia/whatever Alpha really does that well.

Also Pop's for belts

Pops has more than belts and has some of the best prices out there for anything he does stock. He has some steel, micarta, corby bolts ect. He has more stuff if you call him. I know I got my small wheels from him and they are not on his website. The staff is really friendly and great service and fast to respond. Really any knife supply place that I have ordered from has had real people answering the phones and is much much better service than you expect from anyone else in life. That goes for Texas knifemakes, knife kits .com, us USA knife maker, NJ Steel Baron, AKS and probably a bunch of others I haven't ordered from yet.

I use TruGrit, Knife Kits, Alpha Knife supply, USA Knifemaker, NJ Steel Baron, Jantz, Texas Knife supply.

My main suppliers are Tru Grit and Alpha Knifemaking

My two favorites buy a long shot are Pop's and Alpha Knife supply.

I am editing my post as I just placed an order with another big name company. STRICTLY BECAUSE I HAD A GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR THEM. I ordered 15 belts and a bottle of epoxy and Shipping was almost $25!! Absolutely rip-off!! I bought hundreds of dollars in steel from Alpha last week and it was $22 shipping!! I bought $200 in product from Pop's last week and Shipping was less than $9!! DEFINITELY SHOP AROUND!

I have been using alpha for steel and more recently pops for belts. those are the two best that i have found. They both go the extra mile to keep your shipping costs down and have excellent communication.

We get spoiled with Amazon Prime and US flat rate Priority mail.

When using UPS, Fed Ex or USPS Priority shipping can really add up.

Tru Grit, Jantz, Culpepper and Alpha Knife Supply for strictly knife supplies. Sheath leather, The Hide House or Maverick Leather. Speed of shipping is also important and not just cost. I'm one of those guys that usually needs stuff yesterday and these companies over the years have a proven track record of getting stuff out fast.
