What Busse was in Jurassic World?

A while back the Busse website said to look for busses knives in the movie. I just came back from seeing it (Awesome movie BTW) but there's only one knife you really see in the movie and you only see it once , and when it's used it's so quick you barely even get a glance of it. The knife didn't even really look like a Busse , did anyone catch the Busse knife?

People thought he had a short batinaku(spelling?) on his back but it was just a badass winchester/repeating rifle. It was in the scene where he rides with his raptors on the dirt bike in the trailer. Also I think it was speculated the Team Gemini Crusader would be used in the film bit I could be wrong.

The knife is certainly in the movie but even as important as it is in a few scenes it gets little screen time. Was an official answer ever given?

On Pratt's person he rocks OWB SoB one knife that seems different from what's used to pry a bit later..but unsure as it's not easy to discern with such limited viewing time and no way to hit the pause button in the theater.

Google: "Busse knife in Jurassic World"
Select: "Can anyone identify the knife in Owen's belt? : Jurassic Park"
According to the Reddit article, the sheath maker states that ".... it WAS NOT Swamp Rat, nor was it Busse Knives. They may have provided the knives for the Park Rangers, but not the Hero Knife (which is .....". He goes on to name Steve Auvenshine as the maker.
Balloon Juice? Don't know. Best (?) info currently readily available.

I saw the movie last night, man is it good! I was paying close attention for a Busse, but I didn't see it. I did look at the Crusader announcement post, and it says that they sent some of them to a movie (a thought Jurassic World like most) but the shop didn't know if they would be used in the final cut.

I was pumped to see it and went mainly for the busse appearance i thought was happening but....no butaniku like we had thought. Good thing the movie was kick ass enough to offset not having an infi appearance.

Looked really hard to see if there was a small Busse in the cross-draw sheath on Pratt's belt - hard to do without seaming to be fascinated with said star's backside ( Not that there's anything wrong with that, if that floats your boat - just sayin' ) I don't think that was Busse, but the security forces had lot of knives here and there and with all the mayhem it was tough to tell what was what. When the video comes out it will be easier to slow down the frames and distinguish individual pieces I supposes. Right now, all Busse probably knows is that they supplied knives for principle photography that may or may not have gotten editted out of the final cut of the movie.

It was darn fun movie, by the way :)

I'm just happy the tool came in handy on a few occasions. As for if Bussekin made it into the film, it's too difficult to confirm. However, I bet some made excellent parting favors at the wrap party.

Just saw it and I think I spotted the Busse. Also, I have to say I was shocked that something went wrong at Jurassic Park for the what, fourth time now? Was a good movie!

*Spoiler Alert*

In the scene towards the beginning where he's training the raptors, Chris Pratt has a knife set up crossdraw on his back with tube fasteners and a discernibly Swamp Rat handle with the diagonal grooves, from the size I'd say it's a ratmandu. He uses a knife for a split second when he pulls the tooth out of the hamster ball vehicle, but you don't get a good look. Also, I couldn't believe Chris Pratt's go to firearm for shooting dinos was a lever action... really?

It looked to be a newer, Marlin 45-70. If you were shooting dinosaurs, this is about the best you are going to get that is readily available and legal. In the old days, people use to hunt buffalo with them on a regular basis. Its a proven rifle with a lot of take down power and is very easy to get around with.

I dunno, that knife didn't have a Bussekin look to me. YMMV.

On the levergun, I just figured it it was a practical and handy big bore, for large game.

Whoops, how about now?

Hello All,

Maker of the knife sheath here. :-)

I can tell you with 100% accuracy, the knife worn by Pratt was made by Steve Auvenshine. I received the original knife FROM HIM to make the custom scout sheath for it, and it is the exact same knife that is in the movie that Chriss Pratt is wearing S.O.B.

Steve is a very low-volume blacksmith. He supplied a total of four identical knives for the movie. One remained in the sheath through the whole of principal photography. One was used as a working knife whenever a shot required prying/cutting/etc. The other two were worn by the stunt doubles.

I know this because I provided the sheaths for all four copies.

Steve doesn't have a website, so if you are interested in one of his knives, you need to drop him an e-mail or call him. Send me a PM and I'll pass along his contact information.

I just saw the movie. The sheath is awesome. But it should have been a Busse in it. An extreme use knife for an extreme situation. I am sure whatever knives Busse sent in were snapped up by some busse fans on the set who wanted a freebie, lol

I really wasn't paying too close attention to the movie as I simply wanted to be entertained, and enjoy a mega-tub of overpriced popcorn. :-P

That said...I did notice that the InGen team, along with the park Rangers (who you didn't really see until almost the end of the flick) were also carrying knives. I'm sure that Busse was used by one of those teams. The character of Owen Grady tho, according to the script, carried a custom-made knife. Thats why it wasn't a Busse.

Keep in mind that its a MOVIE, and while Busse is a fine knife, the director and script writers have a vision for the flick, they write the script and a backstory, then they fill it for maximum screen effect. :-)
