It is an AITOR machete. This is a Spanish company that makes blades for the Spanish military. I just bought this one and would appreciate any info you guys may have. After receiving it I'll try to post a review.

BTW It is a 14" blade

Well, since this post has almost found it's way to oblivion, please allow myself to allow me to shed some light on the subject.

The machete in question has a blade made out of a metal, while the handle is made out of a different material.
The sheath, on the other hand, is made out of something else altogether.
Your machete is most effective when it is sharp.
Your machete should not be used to shave your face with, nor the nether regions.
Your machete, while obviously a nice toy, should not be used as a sexual aid.
I have the scars to prove that.

Unable to let a "0" response post get past me,

I was really wondering about those issues!! You have shed much light on an otherwise questionable subject! Your specificity is remarkable! Your comprehension overwhelming! And the first hand review awe inspiring!

What was it we were discussing??

I do not know anything about your new machete, but I have had an Aitor Jungle King 1 that my lady bought for me years ago. It is suprisingly well made. Very good materials and workmanship was excellent.
It is one of those hollow handle knives with at least a dozen gimicky functions, (that all work very well). They seem a very reputable maker. Hope you enjoy yours.

Thanks ArcAngel! I picked up a Jungle King II the other day based on a review that I read in the old Cutlery Shoppe catalog years ago. They said it was a great knife. I just did not know they made machetes!!
