Sounds like every panel I've worked on that was done up by this one guy. He doesn't cut any of the wires to length so each side of the panel is packed full of coiled up excess wire. Can barely get your new wires in or work on the thing. On one the front panel was even bulging out from too much wire packed in behind it.rats nest of a panel

I’ve used the tanto to strip solid grounds on Mc cable that exact way to wrap around ground screwI stand by my opinion that the tanto is the best blade shape for a work knife.
