WHAT IS MY KNIFE WORTH?

but I need some pointers. In the 80s and 90s the 1-7 design was everywhere, I even had a Randal #1 in the Army in the 80's but lost it on a Jump at Bragg(I hope no one landed on it).

I have a leather sheath for the large knife(original), the skinner no leather.

the Hunter has a dime size patena it got from the sheath(when it's owner knucklehead stored it that way, me), also the blade got a dent in the safe, middle of the edge, small enough that the first sharpen will take out.

Both have factory edge's, and sadly they didn't come as sharp as some of today's knifes. Micarta smooth handles.

Any help would be nice!!
Skinner 5 1/2 blade

They say Carbon steel, any guess on steel?

Offhand, $125 - 150 on the #1-5 skinner. $100 - 150 on the #1-7. I'd probably clean up the edge before selling it, a used knife with a clean edge always sells better than a rolled or chipped one, even if it's minor.

Carbon Steel is well, carbon steel. Blackjack was always fast and loose back then. Most likely, it's 1095 or 52100.

I would leave the edge untouched. This way the customer knows that it is all still factory (aside from the ding). Peace of mind is priceless.

Nice. I have a weakness for Blackjack and Randall knives. A-2 was used a lot also when Mike Stewart made them for Blackjack in IL. I like the 5.5" skinner; I would assume that it was a predecessor to the current 125 model. I don't know the values but I paid about $160 for the 4.5" Blackjack Trail Guide a couple years ago at a show. It is actually marked A-2 tool steel.

There is no limitation on Gold members for asking questions of valuation.

I like the 1-7 design and have 2 of them. They don't seem to be worth any more than a similar new knife so I say keep them and use them.
