What is so good about the smachet? What can you do with it effectively, is it truely the ultimate knife/tool? Which smachet is best?

The Smatchet is a modern heir to traditional double sided sidearm that dates back to the Roman Gladius. The design continually gets revised in cultures around the world. Everywhere you look you will find examples of similar double edged short swords. Whether the Seme of the Maisai, the Renaissance Cinquedea, the various 18th century French Napoleonic sidearms or the later “cabbage cutter” used by France, the U.S., Russia and others, the heritage is clearly there. We have seen it in the WWI Welsh trench sword and even as the Sting sword carried by Bilbo and Frodo.

It persists as a useful tool and capable sidearm.

Until recently, the Smatchet was the best knife ever invented for anything…… however, time moves on now the SKOL is shooting up to #1…..

That is as beautiful as it is functional as it is affordable.

The smatchet is highly regarded for its versatility and effectiveness as a tool and weapon. Its wide, heavy blade makes it excellent for chopping, digging, and even as a self-defense weapon. It's often considered an ultimate survival knife due to its multifunctionality. The best smatchet is subjective, but popular choices include the Boker Smatchet and the Cold Steel Smatchet, both known for their durability and performance.

When I started to research smatchet through owner comments, I gave up.
They don’t just say, “It’s good, I recommend it.”
They write a presentation.
