In your opinion what is the best or your favorite Swiss Army Knife? I'm looking for one and want some ideas. I love the translucent ones but don't know much about them. What are you favorites? I'd like a full size for sure.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Vic Farmer, with the alox handles. I carry it every day, along with my Fenix E01 (same pocket) and my CRK Umnumzaan in the other pocket. The Farmer has: large blade; wood saw; bottle opener/large flathead screwdriver; can opener/small flathead/phillips head; and a very sharp and handy awl. And it has a lanyard ring.

I also like the Huntsman. A couple more tools (scissors and corkscrew) plus the toothpick/tweezers sleeves.

I also like the Farmer and the Pioneer Harvester, but the best EDC for me is the Compact. The Compact is small enough to carry, but large enough to be useful and packed with features.

I'm a huge fan of any full size (93mm) Alox. I EDC and Apprentice everyday at work.

The huntsman is cool, the huntsman lite as well! So far great suggestions and favorites.

Small Tinker, I have about 3-4 of them and gave another to a non-knife friend who keeps it on her key chain. :D I don't like the Recruit as much and the big Tinker is getting a bit large for a slip joint for me. That said, I still adore my Vic Solo. It just might be my favorite knife even though I never carry it...
Bantams always rock, red or Alox. I do wish the Alox ones came with a key ring. The multi tool can be a bit awkward when using the blade but all my Bantams snap! I have a Pioneer I wish I liked more; the blade and awl are just too spongy for me. I have no interest in the Classic or really anything in that size, nor anything over 2 layers. 84mm is pretty much the ideal size for me here. I really don't like the half lock either.
I'd still love a large Bantam of sorts, possibly even preferably with the big flathead/can opener instead of the multi tool. I'd use it more as a large flathead and rarely as a can opener.

To summarize my rant :D, small Tinker, Alox Bantam, Alox Solo, and the theoretical large Alox Bantam with the small Tinker as the boss.

I almost always carry either an Explorer or Deluxe Tinker in my pocket, plus a Classic on my keychain.

The Farmer has the best build quality of the SAKs but the Hiker can do everything the Farmer can do and more. I suggest buying both. The Hunter XT is the best SAK for deer field dressing with its gutting blade and one-hand opening. It also comes with an excellent pouch and is the full 111mm size. Main blades also lock. The Florist is the best desktop SAK, IMO. It has the gold shield and brass pins and great sheepsfoot blade.

I would have to give the nod to the Farmer with the OHT as a close second.

My favourite is the Alox Soldier/Wenger SI. When I want to carry a smaller knife my choice is the Cadet.

I really like the Fieldmaster, which is exactly the same as the Huntsman except that it replaces the corkscrew with a Phillips head screwdriver which is far more useful to me. If you can live without the Fieldmaster's saw then the Super Tinker is the way to go.

It all depends on what size (thickness - more tools means fatter) you want. You said you want "full size" which probably means the 91mm models. My favorite 91mms are the Spartan, Tinker, Camper, Climber, Huntsman and Ranger. I really don't like anything fatter than a Climber for EDC, but have been carrying a white scaled Huntsman this week and it's not bad. The Ranger is an awesome tool set, but I prefer to carry it in a coat pocket instead of trousers.

The Alox models are first class, so consider those instead. The Pioneer or the Farmer are very well regarded models, and for good reason. They are awesome values, and worth the extra few dollars over the cellidor (i.e. plastic scales) models.

My favorite is the alox Soldier. I carry a Compact though. It's got the most utility in the thinnest package of the full sized SAKs. I don't "like" the knife, but it's great for everything I need. If I could get a straight pin and a ballpoint pen in either my Soldier or Rambler, I would go back to my Soldier/Rambler combo, but the compact does everything that these two knives do, plus a lot more, in the same sizee as the Soldier, and lighter too. I got it for $2 on eBay.

Alox Soldier here as well too. Everything I need and nothing I don't. I've used every tool countless times. I dig the shield too.

You got which ... the Compact or the Soldier ... for $2?

Man, that's beyond a good deal either way. I've gotten some deals on SAKs on eBay, but nothing like that. Compacts tend to sell at a premium compared to other SAKs of similar size.

Alox Electrician Plus=A Farmer with a small sheepfoot instead of a can opener and no lanyard ring bumpout to dig into your hand.--KV

It's a good one for sure. I have an Electrician, but not the Electrician Plus.

However, I (slightly) prefer the Harvester, which is just a Farmer with a pruning blade instead of the can opener. Personal preference.
