What is the holy trinity of knives?

You're going to get a lot of different answers, and I think most of them will be correct.

For production folders, I'd say Benchmade, Spyderco, and ZT,
For high end production folders I'd say Hinderer, CRK, and Spartan (people used to say Strider, but screw him).

I don't have enough experience with other types of knives to give accurate lists (For traditionals maybe it would be Buck GEC and Queen in their prime? Not sure.)

I would choose:

Shirogorov for quality and design and hitting the sweet spot for flippers.
CRK for breaking new ground back in the day (e.g., frame lock + quality).
Benchmade for variety and innovation (e.g., axis lock) and never giving up.

Well if the non-American Shirogorovs are being thrown in the mix, then you might as well toss in other non-Americans like WE.

So for PRODUCTION folders I'd say: Spyderco, Benchmade and WE (sadly, WE easily kicks out ZT given ZT's performance these recent years...IMHO).

For HIGH END: Hinderer, CRK and Spartan

Me as a child:
Buck
Swiss Army
Buck (Maybe Gerber)

Adult me:
Kershaw / ZT
Spyerco
Hinderer

Not Smith and Wesson, Schrade, or Ganzo.

In my collection I have more Spyderco, Kershaw, and Boker than the other brands.
Cold Steel would have been on my list this time last year. RIP:(

Obviously different for everyone. For me it's Spyderco, Hinderer, and Victorinox.

Maybe a poll would be better ?
