Mine is the Snow Peak No.1 SS Kettle. Its the perfect size for one person but is big enough that it can be used for 2 people if needed. My favorite features are the bail and folding handles which is really nice since most post dont have both and usually have one or the other. My cup and towel also fit nicely inside to save space in my pack.

So what is your favorite camp cookset?

Thanks Bill

Nice little pot, cup, lid, and Nalgene. The ti spork is in the bottle. Usually keep my Steri Pen in the bottle when not in the field.

Snow Peak titanium Cook N' Save has been getting the most use lately. Usually cooking for four or five people with it.

+1 Another Snow Peak user here. Been using a 1.3 ti pot for 20 years/7k miles going backpacking 40+ trips per year, for years. I was obsessed. Still going strong. Aside from that was also SP ti skillet, spoon, and coffee cup. Having said that, I've just changed over to this little set pic'd below. The windshield accessory for the SP 2.8oz titanium Power Giga(I have 3 of those suckers. great stove) AND the smaller SP 6oz canister both fit inside while all 3 nest together into a very small cluster. Also have several other SP ti pots, kettles, cups, etc but this set does the trick.

Heres the 1.3lr ti pot(ti cup, skillet, spoon just beyond. water bladder lays to the right) I've used forever until a couple of trips ago. During a solo trip in the Joyce Kilmer wilderness area camping at 5800' alt.

Kick back and have coffee. This setup was around 16-17lbs.

I've gotten my summer pack down below 10lbs if I want too, and still have all the perks(4 season shelter, 30* down bag, Thermarest pad, chairkit, filter, stove, raingear/layers, bladder, etc.

I really should go to bed lol. I'm leaving early tomorrow for a 2 day 1 nighter backpack trip in the Shining Rock wilderness. A series of 6k+ alt balds. I like winter/snow camping the best.

Back to just a Minimalist for my backpacking, which ia always solo. One shot of fuel on the alky gets me enough water to hydrate a meal then mix a warm drink.

It varies depending on what I'm doing but for most of the stuff I do in the States, Mors Kochanski pot from 4 dog stove. Inside that is a snow peak spork and an MSR Titan. Inside the Titan is a Coleman plastic green coffee cup. Inside the cup is an MSR micro-rocket. If I have fuel I can use the little stove. If I have a fire I can use the Mors pot.

I hadn't seen a kettle like the one in the video above. I like it. Ordered.

I backpacked for quite a few trips with other (older and more experienced) people before I bought any of my own gear. This allowed me to buy gear that fit my uses on the first try. Ironically I have bought duplicate gear (titanium pots, fancy camelbaks, lighter backpacks, etc.) and it all sits in my "extra gear" container.

When I bought my backpacking gear, I got 2 MSR Alpine pots (2L and 750mL) and have used them for hundreds of meals. The tall, skinny titanium pots let so much heat up the sides, always burn on the bottom, and are difficult to clean due to their sandblasted finish. Along with those pots I bought a Gregory Palisade, 2L polycarbonate Nalgene, GSI Bottle Cup, Snow Peak titanium spork, MSR Whisperlite, and a few other pieces of kit. I still use all the items because they plain work and I trust them.

I started off with British Army Mess tins and the water bottle cup
They worked very well for a decade or so

I got a Optimus 99 gasoline stove that came in its own aluminum box and a 2 qt Everware aluminum cooking pot from the supermarket
That was good for another decade

I purchased a Snow Peak gas Canister stove, and I purchased an very inexpensive Al anodised 1.4 lt and 0.9 lt set
They pack down and work very well for the gas stove

I also purchased a SS nesting canteen set (Olicamp Stainless Steel Mess Kit) with 1.0 and 0.75 lt pots for cooking in wood fires
Nice little simple unasuming set

I just ordered a Snow Peak No.1 SS Kettle, so it is nice to see such a positve review
I can see this being my camp fire camping/back packing kettle with the new Fire Box Nano folding stove

And I also just ordered an Open Country 2 Qt al covered pot, again very simple nothing to go wrong on the fire pot

I use three set ups. Trangia alcohol stove, my MSR Pocket Rocket with Ti pot, and an old gas burner

I like the Snowpeak titanium stuff. I have the 900 pot/pan set, the 450 double-wall mug and the Mini Solo set. But, the set that gets the most use is my old GSI Solo Ketalist. I usually just need to boil water for freeze-dried meals and coffee, so the kettle works better than a pot (the wider base is more efficient at taking heat from the stove/fire). GSI's Halulite (anodized aluminum) kettle is very light, and has proven to be extremely durable.

Here's the kettle heating up on my Coleman 400 and the Snowpeak mug at daybreak on an Adirondack canoe camping trip last month:
