What knife does Peter Pan carry?

I know, he hangs with Tinkerbell, and in performances he's always played by a bob-haired actress, but ya gotta respect the kid, he's the only Disney character that always openly carries a knife.

So what do you suppose he's carrying?

KABAR!

Eh, who knows... Probably a blade ground in Never Never Land, made from forged NNL-Hook20V...

Well, it's probably double edged.

In the live action production, Mary Martin returns to the underground hide-out under a tree, not yet aware that Tinkerbell has been poisoned. Tinkerbell cries out for help.

Mary Martin replies, "Just a minute, Tink, while I sharpen my dagger."

Most of the items that the Lost Boys use looks recycled or stolen. In that same manner, my guess is that Pan's dagger was stolen from a pirate. Hook's band appears mostly English, and the story is from the 1800's. Ergo, I believe that this dagger was procured from the manufacturer that made most of the export cutlery in that length at that time, like the Bowie knife.

I believe Pan's dagger to be a Sheffield Arkansas Toothpick.

I believe an Alex Collins made, for the live action film, Peter's knife/sword and Capt Hooks Hook.
Could be wrong on this...

Actually, in the latest release, he doesn't. Disney digitally editted the knife out to protect our children from such a horrible sight.

Is that true? Did they edit out Hook's hook and sword, too?:grumpy:

No. It's politically correct for the evil adult villain (who is ultmately defeated) to have sharp and pointy things.

The message that we must send to our children today is that good will triumph over evil by... well.... uh... ummm.... well... well because it's good, that's why!

In other words, the US doesn't need to buy any guns or bombs or fighter planes or any of those evil, pointy/sharp things. We'll triumph over Sadam and Bin Laden and all of their sort because we're so good.

And it is not necessary for you, personally, to own (much less carry) a gun or a knife or even maybe take some martial arts training. If you're a good little boy like Peter Pan, you will triumph over evil by your virtue.

Unfortunately, we don't all live in the Magic Kingdom.

I can not, for the life of me, remember where I read an article about how studios, especially Disney, are going back and digitally editting especially children's pictures and cartoons to remove and "correct" politically-incorrect content. One of the examples they cited was Disney removing Peter Pan's knife for the new DVD release.

Probably one of those Perlex-handled Linder daggers.

I always thought Pan's knife looked like my Linder Boot dagger...of course mine is in stag...and his was a cartoon.

...and I'm pretty sure it had a compass in the hollow handle. I loved the part where the red-neck sheriff and deputies forced Peter Pan to jump off a cliff into some trees and he sewed up his wound with a first aid sewing kit in the hollow handle of his knife. That was cool!

Remember when Tinkerbell said, "He'll eat stuff that would make a billy goat puke..."
