Not your oldest knife but the knife you currently own that YOU bought for yourself (vice receiving from parents, grandparents, etc) you've owned the longest.

Mine is a one dot (1979) Case 62009 1/2 barlow I bought the year it was made. It's the knife that convinced me delrin is the best material for pocket knife handles.

BuckLite #424. I bought this new in 1989 after losing my Gerber Silver Knight which was the only pocket knife I owned for about 15 years. I busted the tip off using it as a screwdriver, and reshaped the tip myself. It's short, but it works, and I still have it.

I'm almost ashamed to say so, but I think mine is a Kershaw Leek that I bought back in the mid 2000s. Almost all the knives from my childhood were gifts (and have been lost or given away) and most of the knives I own now were given to me as gifts.

This is where I get to show off how new I am to traditional knives...

I bought this Buck 55 in 2013, and carried it as my only knife for nearly 3 years. I have a super-mall-ninja-tactical CRKT that's older, but obviously, this being the Traditional sub-forum, that won't be shown.

I don't remember if I bought it with cash at an Army/Navy Surplus Store, or if I "bought it" with time in the Army Reserves.
A Western "Demo" knife, with a tang stamp that dates it to 1975, which was when I was in the Reserves.
(Other than the tang stamps, it is identical to the Camillus 1760.)

Forgot I was in "traditional" forum :-). My first traditional knife that I bought for myself was a 2015 maroon micarta Beer Scout that I sold because it was a little smaller than I wanted (I've since regretted that choice).

I have once again my Mercator K55K black cat, which I purchased in 1979. I loaned it to my brother in law, who used it working for USPS from 1986 until he retired in 2016. He returned to me last year. I also have continuously owned a Camillus Barlow with delrin handles since the early 80's.

I think it's going to be my Tinker. I bought this in 1989 while in the Marines. I had lost my Old Timer 340T, that I had bought myself somewhere around 1983-85. I didn't want to loose another knife so I wanted something I could dummy cord to myself.

I recently ran across an Old Timer large stockman still in the box but had developed some rust because of being stored in a toolbox. Inside the cover was a note "purchased July 4th, 1973. I also have a Case xx barlow with the "one armed man" blade which my grandmother gave me in about 1972. I lost years ago the first knife I bought myself which was a Boker pen knife in about 1967, for less than $7.
Take care all,
Rick

For me that would be a Buck 110 ... I wanted one as a kid but dad told me if I wanted one to save and buy it ... so I did just that and dad took me to the local Gambles store in town when I was 12 and I bought it ... it now is in the top of my tool chest in the garage and still gets used for odd jobs out there ... looks pretty rough and has been used and misused through the years ...

too cold to run out for just a picture but maybe when I go out later I'll remember. This would be a close second to the 110 ...
