I was looking at "Knives of Alaska" for a good all round hunting and survival knife, they do a good camp combo, a large 5-6" blade and a smaller 3" blade on the sheath, piggy-back style, I was wondering what other good makers offer such a style?

Thanks guys.

Hunting?
Don't be a wise guy!
What d'ya hunt with a knife?
Name it!

Rob Simonich makes a fixed hunter called the Latigo that is available with a "parasite" knife that stores inside the handle of the bigger one. Here are some pics: http://www.simonichknives.com/fixed.htm

Johnny Stout has a nice two knife combo that I think he calls "the Texas Trophy Set". Two nice blades with stag handles in a "piggyback" pigskin sheath. Check it out on his site.

Or you could create your own. Pick the two knives you want to piggy back and find a sheath maker to make an appropriate sheat.

I have seen some nice piggy-backs in the Kellam catalogue (expensive, though). Contact James Mattis at chaicutlery.

Phill Hartsfield piggybacks a small kozuka model on some of his larger knives, calling it a companion knife. Joe Kious, among others, builds a small blade that slides out of the end of some of his folders.

If you don't want to spring for a custom, I saw a nice Browning fixed blade at my local gun shop with a little hitchhiker that popped out of the micarta handle. Very nice but pretty steep for a production piece,

Case knives has offered a piggy-back set for years and they are very reasonabley priced. Check out a Case catalog at your local dealers.
