What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Yep - I would be surprised if that Russell has cut much in its lifetime, as the Hollinger has had a charmed life as well by the looks - quite the size difference between the two as well !

Thanks Paul
I can see why Rob, very nice:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Charlie
Nice ones Rob!! Especially that rare Hollinger!!!
The Russell is in great shape, too!!

The Russell isn't a finished knife, grind marks on the blade, edge is flat, also has an unusual tang stamp on the pile side. Thanks Duncan.

Well, not being a beat up corroded old cheapie with a broken main blade.

I paid a seller on the auction site, ten bucks to throw this one in the garbage. :)
Seller's photos.

'BARLOW' is what it says ;)

I expect it's an imperial.
I'm gonna pick one up some day. I'm a fan of really basic knives, and I've heard this shell Barlow has decent steel.

That's a very rare Barlow, most of the time the pen blade is broken,:D:D:D:D.

Charlie, you still going to do an Ancient with a broke pen?;)
