I started using Milwaukee portaband saw blades years ago and the first dozen or so blades worked awsome and then they started to really suck to switched to Lennox Wolfbands. I have had pretty good results with the Lennox but recently it seems they have also gone down hill for quality or maybe a bad batch.

What portaband blades are you guys currently using with good results?

I just use the HF ones, they are called Hercules I believe. I don't use them excessively so they work for me.

I agree with your assessment of the quality of blades.
It's Very hit or miss lately.
I'll get a long use blade, for what I forget how many blades....then the next blade I use gets like three before braking..... Sucks.

Idk why either?
Just 2 days ago my last one wasn't even braking at the splice.

I found starett ones at the big river, and I'll have them soon

I'd been using the Milwaukee ones since I got my portaband. I've gone through maybe 7 blades? Lost several fresh ones right off the bat to welds popping, which deeply frustrated me. On my last one, so I got some Lenox ones now to try.

I've always had relatively bad luck with the Milwaukee ones. Bad welds and they seem to loose teeth at the weld. But they are available locally. Lennox blades have always been far superior but as someone mentioned I just used up a box of three. This was cutting out blades. First two were jumping off the wheels in just a couple of blades. The third cut and cut and cut and cut. Bad batch? Quien Sabe? I do have some Morse ones on the way.

I just bought a 3 pack of Lennox that I'm patiently waiting on. May have to order up a few of the Morse to try out also. For some dumb reason I've just been using the DeWalt brand up till now. I've found that 10 tpi works better and lasts longer than 18 tpi. esp. on CPM154.

Been using lennox for years. get a bad one now and then but i cut a lot of used band saw blades.

I got a 3 pack of the Lennox when I recently switched to a portaband. First blade was amazing, thought I’d found THE one. Second lasted a very short time and third is on it’s way out just as quick.

Dang it. I always loved Lenox blades but I guess like most things price has gone up and quality down. Sad days.

The Bauer brand from Harbor Freight was great. But they stopped selling them recently. I hope they come back. The hercules version was terrible

For years I've been using Lenox bimetal blades but recently the quality has gone downhill.
I might give the morse brand a try.

Portaband.com has good prices but I have never ordered from them.

One thing I saw is Morse says ideal speed for their blades for longevity is 285 FPM. Most of the adjustable portabands I believe have a speed high speed of 350 FPM so turning down the speed a little on the saw might help with getting a little more cut out of a blade.
