What should I do with this single phase motor?

Hello Blade Forum. I just finished replacing my single phase motor with a 2HP three phase and a VFD. Love it.

But now I have this single phase motor, that is only 6 months old. What should I do with it? I don't have a disc grinder so was thinking about buying a 9" disc and throwing it on there, but its my understanding that Disc grinders with Variable speed and that can change directions is ideal.

Any ideas?

Is that an 1800 rpm motor? If so, you might use it to make a buffer. You're right, variable speed on a disk grinder is just as important, or more so than on the 2X72 grinder. A $131 3 ph 3/4hp motor is just fine for the disk grinder.

The single phase motor is a 1HP 3450 rpm

Put it on craigslist and keep on buying second hand 3 phase motors from craigslist. My goal is to replace all my 1 phase motors on my machines with 3phase/vfd. Watch long enough and you will find em under $100 which is a pretty cheap conversion to variable speed. I am watching for a motor for my laguna bandsaw and for my wood lathe.
