But seriously, I don't know how stuff in Tigerhide changes hands. It's literally my favorite handle material when it is hand-smoothed. Lucky me, and thanks to anyone who contributed to my meager 4 in this material. I'd buy everything in it even if it added $100 or more to the total. I'd take SR-101 with hand-smoothed Tigerhide over INFI with another material. That's not even just due to the way it looks; it also seems to absorb moisture differently than other micarta handles. Not just my imagination, right?Also.

I don’t know what the actual difference is between hand smoothed Tigerhide and, say, black canvas micarta is except that Tigerhide seems to have a finer weave, but not necessarily just the way that linen micarta does. It’s very hard to explain. It seems to almost conform to your hand but I suspect that has to do with the extreme smoothness of it and the way that it absorbs moisture.Really interesting that it's not just a cosmetic difference, I did not know that. I hope I get to try some someday, they're beautiful Tim. Thanks for sharing them with us.
