Love the no nonsense unpretentious brass bolsters.
I wish they would make more "worker" patterns like the stockman, Barlow, and the trapper, among others, with brass and/or steel bolsters these days. More with simple carbon steel blades, too.

I've never understood why a patina is "bad", or why a knife that is regularly used should look "new", even after years of use.
Once a patina forms, rust isn't a threat anymore. (at least it hasn't been for me. Not even when I lived in the Florida Keys, surrounded by saltwater.)
Knives with stainless blades and nickel silver bolsters never attain character like those with brass (or copper) and steel bolsters and carbon steel blades do.
