What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carried a working man's knife today. Simple, inexpensive, well made, no frills, 1095 steel.

Gorgeous stag and a wonderful looking knife, Paul. It's simplicity is it's best feature, in my opinion. Congrats to you and Mark.
Thanks Gary and I agree in it's simplicity is it's strength:)

That is an exceptional beauty, Paul, and a kingly gift, at that.

Wonderful knife, Paul! I really dig the steel liners and exceptional stag.

I've had this one in the pocket today.

Thanks Dylan, the HJ 85 is highly treasured:thumbsup: the first release of Scouts are the best in my opinion, beautiful knife there Dylan:cool::thumbsup:

That’s a beauty Paul !!!
Wow :eek:
Thank you for your compliment on Mark's Stag shadow, your birdseye Stockman is awesome:cool:

A super sweet seductively simple shadow Paul. I love that knife!
Five "S"s in a row Dwight, pretty :cool::thumbsup: Thank you:)

When did Marko make that....wow !!!!???
Thanks Gev, Mark made it about two years ago. It was his carry for a while and somehow I was persuasive enough to become it's new owner:eek: it's funny that Mark doesn't carry a knife of his own making for very long. He will for a while then sure enough he'll sell it. He tends to carry a Case mini Copperlock for the most part.

That way I can have my pie and cut it too.
:D:thumbsup: You can always find a way to get around it, Joshua! ;)

GT, thanks, as always, and that's some real nice bark on your Ram Horn Marbles barlow. :thumbsup:
Nice variety of blades, Gary. Love that ram's horn.
The texture of this Ram's Horn is fabulous...;):thumbsup:
Thanks for the positive comments, Jeff & Vince & Senhor José. :) I'm very pleased with the Marbles Ram's horn Barlow, Canoe, and Sowbelly Stockman I have, although the greenish color of all of them seems quite unique.

...
Thanks GT. Great knives. You seem awful busy. Have you gone back to work?:rolleyes:

Dwight, I am teaching one class each semester this year, but that takes up less than 10 hours per week, usually. Just a bunch of little stuff has added up to cut into my "recreational" time. The past 3 weeks I average at least 30 minutes per day on snow removal, and an ice storm and winds gusting to 50+ mph took out the power from my house to the detached garage, so that has required attention. I had cataract surgery in early January that had some complications, and I spend about an hour each day taking my various meds (mostly eye drops :eek:), along with weekly check-ups and a couple of visits with specialists (another hour per week at least). Our dogs have had some health issues that required medications and diet changes, and that adds at least 15 minutes per day to my "morning chores".

Yes it is GT, like having a best friend in your pocket...
:thumbsup::thumbsup::)

Splendid 77 Barlow, Randy! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

No, but those are my two favorite parts of Texas. Honeymooned in the Hill Country. But the coast is home.
:thumbsup::):cool:

Rilley ate her meat but I can't feed a dog pudding....that would be craaaazy! ;):p:D
....
I was totin this Rough Rider sowbelly today.

Nobody ever does anything craaaazy for their pets! :D
My first sowbelly was a Rough Rider exactly like that (except the punch doesn't look familiar ;)). :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

...
Thanks, Gary! That is a fantastic photo of your mini copperhead. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, Dean, but you're probably biased, given what you carry frequently! ;)

Buck Tuesday!

Fine pair of related Bucks, Dean! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT, good to see your avatar again. The Marbles is a looker! (Isn't there a thread about traditional knives and hats, or am I misremmembering?)

These two for me today, one old and one new.

vyLXToM.jpg
Thanks, Tom. :) There is a hats thread, and I think that Böker cap probably appears there with at least a couple of my knives (but not with any Bökers, I'll bet :rolleyes:). That two-tone Lionsteel seems to go well with many of your knives! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

That's a stunning and statuesque lambsfoot, @cigarrodog! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary!
As always, a beautiful group of knives. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
Thanks for the encouragement, Dee. :)

I really like the way you've "posed the knife, Dee, and wonder why we don't see similar shots more often! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: (I suppose it depends on where the secondary blade is relative to the main blade.)

Carried this one today.

Bought it several months back. Finally got a pic today.

Edited to add: I can't keep up with most of y'all with all the beautiful, high-end knives. Forgive my lowly attempt.
That's a sublime knife, and I'd take that "lowly attempt" in a heartbeat over most of the knives I see posted here! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Well, I will wield wondrous wood while Wednesday waxes and wanes.

Whoopee for wood, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::D

... Here’s a Camillus I love that I’m toting today.
Camillus got my tongue - speechless, Nick!!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Wooden Wednesday.

Intoxicating double shot of wood, Rachel! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

On the Feast of St Valentine, I think I will carry two of my bestest:

Navaja Albaceteña with polished stag, from @ArtesaniaHerreros; and:

A new and phenomenal ironwood lambsfoot, from A. Wright & Son, Sheffield.
Great pics of two superb knives, Vince! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Rosewood Ettrick which arrived yesterday, excellent F&F on this one, very good in the hand or pocket. Just wish I could use it outdoors....frozen tundra abounds still..;)

Congrats on the electric Ettrick, Will! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Here's a highly favored carry knife of mine.

I can see why! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup: That's a handsome hunk of heavy machinery! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Schrade USA Uncle Henry 197UH locking single blade.

Stunning Staglon slicer, Dean! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Alox Knife of the Week for me is a red Vic Cadet:

non-Alox SAK of the Week is a Vic Huntsman:

Stockman of the Week is a Ganzo, which seems to be a Buck 303/373 clone (thanks, Dave):

Thank you for the reply GT. Sure makes one wonder how it all got done "BEFORE" ... "RETIREMENT"... :eek: I know y'all have had a bad winter. Very sorry to hear about the complications on your eye surgery. I know it's little consolation but please know I feel your pain my friend. I won't go into it but let's just say it ain't easy gettin old. My prayers for your good health and that of your fine four legged family members as well. Take care. :)

I fell behind a day on this thread and I can't even see the horizon. Nice knives shown by all y'all. I carried this NYKC Hammer brand folding hunter in coke bottle cocobolo (1878-1932) yesterday while prepping for a rabbit hunt this weekend (likely to be in the snow):

Nice old Hammer Brand!

I always enjoy your workbench and tool shots, and that Case is beguiling.

There was something weird about this knife... then I figured it out and had never seen one like it before... and then had to buy it. Any guesses?

I'd guess you've got a nice little Hammer Brand there.
