I've really enjoyed the 01 steel. I can't really tell a difference between it and 1095. If anything, it might have slightly better edge retention.

Today with Case mini trapper brown bone, manufactured 1999 1 dot, dated 12.31.99 on the pile side.

Just think about it, you could quite possibly have the very last knife made by Case in the 20th century! At least that’s how I’d tell the story to my kids
