I have looked at a lot of examples of axe heads, and while I find a lot that have some or similar features, I haven't come across one that is this style exactly - so I need some help from people who have that sort of institutional knowledge already in their heads. Thanks for your help!

Sears just called it their "Heavy Hatchet" circa 1960's. Collectors call it a Cedar pattern hatchet now, it's kinda sorta maybe to my eye, but not quite. Cedar patterns sell better to collectors. See number 2, from the 1964 catalog -

It was sold by Sears under Heavy Hatchet-Axe name. Camping axe with 17 inch handle, 1 3/4 lbs hardened poll head. Very often is being offered by unscrupulous Fleabay sellers as Cedar pattern.

The heavy may be one of the few tools made by Vaughan & Bushnell that doesn't seem to have ever been offered with their own stamp on it.
That is to say the pattern was as far as I know exclusive to Sears, usually the same thing could be found from Vaughan themselves.

I thought the Hammertooth rip claws were as well, but I later discovered Vaughan had offered them before.

The Hatchet Axe, one of those inbetweener designs that leaves me wanting for one or the other. It's only relationship to a broad axe is side profile only.
