It's funny how music makes you tune in or connect with things that happen.
I work at a state run facility for people with disabilities. I've hit my happy spot with being in charge of people on the afternoon shift. Myself and 4 other people rotate running it after everyone else goes home. The Friday night or Saturday morning before last one of the guys that had worked with me for the last 8 years checked into a hotel room at a casino and took his own life. I always expected him to be the guy to replace me when I moved up or out, had been mentoring him since he started working for me.
There are all the outpourings of emotion when someone kills themself but I just keep telling myself he was a smart dude. He wasn't sick, he wasn't a victim, he just made a stupid decision. Not that much of that matters, I just wanted to make a post of some sort about him because he mattered to me.
