What is the sharpest knife you have ever received straight out of the box? What is the dullest?

Sharpest knife= Cold Steel Trail Master San Mai III. Unbelievable edge, especially for a 5/16th in thick slab. Truly hair popping. Handled 2 other samples and both were the same consistency of sharpness.

Dullest Knife= Kailash Blades Scourge Kukri. Beyond butterknife dull. Zero edge. Couldn't break skin if you wanted to. Dullest new knife I have ever received, hands down.

what edge did you order on the scourge? i have knives from kailashblades with performance edge that are really sharp. i could shave my balls with them

I've recieved a bunch of sharp out the box knives, hard to really say which one was the sharpest, but one that stands out to mind as being suprisingly sharp was an H&K fixed blade in D2.

The dullest, hands down, was an HTM - Kirby Lambert design that had edge ground on it that was more akin to something you would find on a Kobalt Cold chisel bought on clearance at Lowes

Performance edge if I recall correctly. Perhaps there was an oversight. I ordered mirror polish blade, and it seemed almost as if maybe an edge was put on there, but when the sanding and polishing was done it wiped the edge right off. I'm not sure to be honest.

Dullest= pretty much any of my machete, since they tend to come without a finished edge.

Sharpest would have to be one of my Good Kife Co and David Mary David Mary knives.
Yup - got two Tramontina with no, uhh.. there's no edge on the tip, and a few inches down from the tip. It's cool, because I have a project, but I do not have a machete with a full edge. Are a lot of machetes like that, or were you talking about Tramontina too?

Cold Steel edges are crazy sharp. Spyderco, too.

Sharpest: It would be a straight-up tie between any of my Buck 110s and 119s and my Cold Steel 4MAX Scout. (*I was SCARED of all of 'em for the longest time. The 119s and 4MAX have already "bitten" me on a few occasions)

Dullest: Unfortunately, there have been quite a few. ☹️

Sharpest: Cold Steel Voyager and a CJRB Centros. The latter is murdery looking with that pointy tip. Scary sharp too.
Dullest: SOG Instinct neck knife. I recently fixed that with my whetstones. But what can I expect with 5Cr steel?
