So I've been wondering what a lot of people consider is essential in an EDC (Every Day Carry)?

My personal list lately has been:

Spyderco Paramilitary 2 (Needs no explaining)

Firehawk Tactical flashlight (Cheap but good)

No gun, not 21 so I can't carry concealed, and I don't like the idea of open carrying because of the hell I'll get from anti gun people

Some sort of pen, usually just a blue Bic ballpoint and a sheet of paper

I used to carry a SAK Troubleshooter I found in a river until it was stolen, and if anyone has a good multitool/SAK they really like PLEASE tell me!

I also carry a brushed aluminum Zippo lighter because you never know when you'll need to light a fire

Finally if I know I'm going to be away from my house for a long time I'll carry a juice box, or as most people call it a power bank

Please let me know what you carry and what multi-tool you'd recommend if you recommend carrying one!

First I'll list what I consider essential then what I carry.
A knife is a must
A toothpick and tweezers are a must, either a full sized sak or a small one paired with your edc
A small set of nail clippers
A pen is a must
A flashlight
And lastly every man should wear a watch.

If my knife for the week isn't a sak then I pair it with a vic classic, and for saks I carry either a recruit, tinker, and of course the classic I pair with other blades.
I carry a set of trim clippers
A small pen
A Bushnell 100l light
A leatherman fuse which I consider one of the best ever made, though sadly discontinued.
I wear a Victorinox quarto screwdriver around my neck
My watch is either an indiglo Timex weekender or a vintage Casio
And lastly I carry a MAC 4" adjustable wrench.

Since this is General Knife Discussion, I'll just say "a SAK of some sort." All the rest I'll save for Gadgets and Gear.

As for the dot com you should probably take a minute and check out the site's rules, particularly the ones on deal spotting.

These items are with me just about always. The knife and watch are the only thing that really vary. Generally nothing more nothing less.

Thanks I'll change it

I'm pretty minimalist in my EDC, especially since:
- I work a desk job in front of a computer all day
- I have a pack always at the ready within easy range should I really need more

My EDC today, and 90% of the time is:
- 3" folder of some sort (varies day to day)
- Firearm (again, varies by the day)
- Watch
- Wallet
- Bic lighter
- Phone
- 32 GB USB stick

That's it. Weekends I'll sometimes add a multi-tool, fixed blade, flashlight, or such, but that all really situational. It's all already in my pack or truck if I need it, and I'm never more than 100 yards away.

Almost forgot, I always have a bottle opener on my keys. Never know when your gonna need an emergency beer!

CS Recon 1 spear point unless I'm going to Baltimore than Its CS Ti lite 6
Leatherman usually a Rebar
Surefire Lumamax L4
Schrade tactical pen
Leatherman micra on Keychain
Ian Sinclar CardSharp in my wallet
Plus many small things in my wallet such as a signal mirror, DMT credit card size sharpener and a fresnal lense for emergency fire.

Weekdays:
knife
cellphone
cheap rollerball ink pens (2 because "2 is one and one is none")
flash drive
Fenix PD25 flashlight
wallet
wristwatch
keys
wallet

Weekends I don't carry the flash drive but sometimes carry a Leatherman Charge

Knife, Second Knife, SAK, MT and Flashlight in addition to the Smartphone. Many to choose from, like most Gear freaks, in all categories.
Today it's these:

I don't have fur or claws or fangs like many animals, so I level the playing field by wearing a jacket and hat and carrying a knife of some sort.

It's going to get dark at some point, so I carry a flashlight. Seems strange to me that people will carry an umbrella if there's a 40% chance of rain, but won't have a flashlight even though there's a 100% chance of it getting dark tonight. Oh well.

The ability to make fire is a pretty cool skill that humans possess, and I won't be left out so I carry a Bic lighter.

Most days I have a pen, some days I have a watch, and on rare days I carry a firearm.

My wallet, my watch, a light, and a knife.

And that'll cover 98% of anything that happens during the day. If I run my day right, I can see the final 2% coming, and either work my way around them, or prepare for them.

I've been carrying a knife for nearly 50 years, and after screwing around with all sorts of sparkly toys, that's what I've figured out.

I always carry at least 2 knives, 2 lights, and a small pry bar that lives in my wallet.

My favorite SAK is the Cadet. I have 2 that live in 2 different jackets.

BK14 Eskabar (until my ESEE Beretta Izula II comes in) , bersa thunder 9mm, Bushnell pro 100L, wallet (of course), two lighters, and two dollars in quarters.

Wallet, watch, phone, knife/knives, flashlight, Zippo, SAK/multitool, firearm. Add or subtract on the weekends depending on what I'm into.

Knife , light , phone, are the top, three . Leaving the house add gun and wallet .

Work: folder and fixed blade , light, pad, pen, ems gloves , trauma dressing , phone, in uniform.

Bunkers add 4 door wedges , shove knife, small pry bar, motorcycle tire iron .
