The 125OT, a liner lock Folding Hunter is another Great Schrade ("Great" as used by Quakers, meaning of ongoing significance even if dead). There are usually a few on ebay, getting an unused one with it's sheath is what to look for. Here are two.
Here's an older 2 blade Folding Hunter, Schrade-Walden 225H ("H" = hole). Patinaed, but unused and with "Schrade/Walden" pressed into the original sheath. This one has Delrin handles. Jigged bone examples are 'out there' but i haven't found one yet.
Here is a single blade Liner Lock Folding Hunter, an Advertising knife for Chicago Cutlery made by Schrade, and marked"Chicago/Cutlery/P22 USA".
This one is a bit rarer with the saber ground Skinner blade. Nice oak handles.
Schrade made both 1 and 2 blade Folding Hunters for Chicago Cutlery (in the 1980's i think). Some have a 'shield' that is branded into the wood, others have "Chicago Cutlery" branded into the handle, and others like this one have a round brass shield.
Here is a 2 blade Folding Hunter with a saber grind Clip and flat grind Skinner blades, marked only with an etch on the master blade "JC Higgins". Jigged Delrin handles. "JC Higgins" was a Sears brand name for a wide variety of well made sporting goods used from 1908 to 1961. John Higgins, an Irish immigrant, began working for Sears in 1898 and retired as Head Bookkeeper in 1930.
The Sears collector i bought this from says it was in the 1960 Sears catalogue. I have asked for a copy of this add if he can find his copy.
The date is significant because i think it is one of the earliest uses of Delrin. I'm hoping Codger will expand/correct about this Delrin/date.
