I purchased the Bushman about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. Sharp as a razor, very sturdy, and I love the looks. What do you guys think of it? The only problem I've had is one of the rivets on the sheath come off. I even Para-cord wrapped the handle. Anyways, opinions?

One of the finest $5 knives I have ever owned. The only one actually. Got it at a local knife show for 5 small. Kinda light but can be used as a beater and can be stuck on a pole. For the money I can't complain. I know a lot of guys here don't like Cold Steel but it's the only one I have. I really haven't used it so I cannot give a performance review.

I've beaten the stuff out of mine and it keeps begging for more. I have other knives I use more, but I know I can trust my Bushman with just about anything I chuck at it.

It's been a good knife for me. I've put it through quite a bit of cutting and chopping and I've never had any worries about putting it through its paces. My one real gripe is the lack of a good traction plan on the handle. I've had it get a bit slippery in hand while using it in the snow. Some of my worries are alleviated by using a wrist lanyard, but I find that a more grippy handle leaves my hands a bit less strained, as I don't have to grip as hard.

Either way, I enjoy the knife quite a bit.

I like the handle as-is but I know some folks have put grip tape on the handle to make it more aggressive. :)

It's a great beater knife. It isn't the prettiest, but it is a great functional tool that is very fun to use.

I LOVE mine. I made a 6' spear out of it. I've thrown it at several dozen trees, and even with a 2# staff on it, it hasn't managed to bend at all.

It also stayed very sharp even after all the trees and chopping LOTS of limbs

mine came with a slight bend when you look down the spine of the blade, its only minor but may make re-sharpening harder than it needs to be. overall the knife holds its edge amazingly and still has a good spring temper! and it has the versatility of being a spear! great value knife and a lot of talk bout this on the web
i don't like the sheath though and Ive tried to find an aftermarket one unsuccessfully. looks like ill try and make my own.

It's as "bare bone" a knife as you can get. The perfect execution of a minimalist design. It is no more than it needs to be but does volumes more than many knives 3 and 4 times as expensive. My only grip is that, like the GI Tanto, they don't make more sizes and blade shapes. It will never win a beauty contest but in hard use it is a beaut.

I've had problems with the sheath too. It's a bit too big if you ask me, but, it's not horrible. I've also been searching for a new sheath but no luck.

I bought a couple mostly out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised by them. They are well made out of tough carbon steel, and luckily Cold Steel didn't go overboard on the thickness.

On one hunting trip I abused my Bushman well beyond what one should expect a knife to endure. It ended up a bit bent and with part of the edge rolled. I used a rock picked up from a stream to hammer it back into shape. :D Rather useless excercise in knife torture, but I had fun.

I like the bowie model more than the regular one, but they are both great tools for the money.

Cold Steel makes a lot of great inexpensive knives. The Shanghai Shadow and the G.I. Tanto are two outstanding knives that one can buy for almost nothing! The Warhead also was one of my favorites. The Bushman is another great buy and I plan on buying two or three of them to stuff into my collection. They come sharp and have a number of applications, not the least of which is acting as a spear on the end of a pole.

There aren't many Cold Steels I don't like. Not all of them are bargains, but there are plenty.

I have one only recently purchased. I have BK15 which is my primary hunting knife and I love it. So much so that I hate to abuse it. This new mistress will fill that need as I trust the plethora of tests and reviews previously done on it. As a side bar to anyone who owns one I realized last night when placing items in the handle that an old 35mm film canister bottom if cut off makes a tight fitting and perfect sized cap for the back end. . Great value and I look forward to using it during my non-hunting outdoor activities
