Any one know? I can’t find info on it and I won’t buy one if it’s made in China. Not that the quality would be low… I just buy local to the US or atleast from friends.

That’s what I’m afraid of… the fact that it’s not clearly stated

Oddly enough the owner / designer of these knives won't say where they are made, and the address listed on the LLC is a UPS store at 217 Cedar St, Sandpoint, Idaho ....

If you have to ask, then you already know. Generally any feature a company is proud about, such as country of manufacture, they advertise it. Things they are not proud about, they don't mention. I see no mention of country of manufacture on their web site, anywhere.

Screenshot from an americancop article I found online, literally the only thing I could find on it. Says USA made but short of confirmation directly from AMTAC I'd take that with a grain of salt..

I think they're a simple purpose driven fixed blade that would work well in a self-defense role.....BUT they are pricey. At the $400 & up price there's a whole lot of competition out there, some of it for less.

Right.. they are cool knives, in a way. And I have and appreciate nice knives..

But in this instance, if we are talking about something to use strictly for self defense, $400 is a lot for what is essentially a shank (albeit a very nice shank)..

But a Cold Steel Counter Tac does the exact same thing for 30 bucks, just saying..

I was pondering the same and wondered if I’d be just as happy. I did want something that could double for outdoor use and the trainer… I bet I could find something I could get two of and dull one for training for same price or less lol

Coming from someone who proudly served as a Navy SEAL, and then not proudly displaying a bold "made in USA" stamp on the blade, tells me all I need to know. One would be proud of that fact and market it as such. Even a made in Taiwan... A proud serviceman, (proud enough to use that service status as a marketing pitch), one would think would also be proud of the country of origin if it was in fact homegrown to the country he proudly served...

Couple that with a tight friendship with Jake Hoback, and I know enough to know I'm not even a little bit interested.

Having trained with Bill Rapier, and knowing his background, it's perplexing that he would offer a Chinese-made knife. I'm holding out hope that if it's not US-made, it's at least made somewhere else.
