I checked auto-zone, Sears, and Radio Shack, all I could find was large torx at sears. There was a driver set with like 72 bits (some small enough) and a driver, but all I need is little L shaped torx wrenches.

Hmmmm I picked up small one at Sears about 2 years ago, they were tough to find but they were there. They actually look like small screw drivers and with stocked alongside those. I'd also check Home Depot.

Hope this helps,

Have you consider the Benchmade Torx tool? Retails for $12.

BM Blue Box

Sears has a plastic bag torx screwdriver kit. It's not part of their Craftsman line, it carries a different name within the Sears family. My nephew got me set for Christmas for ~$5 or so.

Wiha are excellent. That said I to can find them at the sears in my area, yes even the small ones.

You can try some of the bigger electronic stores. I picked up my Torx 6 in one of those places.

see if there is a Hobby Store near you , one that specializes in RC Cars. They have some really good quality ones for a decent price.

Check Hobby People as well.

Just a word of advice regarding torx wrenches, the cheaper wrenches are more apt to destroy screw due to poor mnfg. standards, poor tolerances, improperly hardend bits. These things can wreck the screw heads and make it more difficult to remove the screws.

If your like me and constantly take your knives apart, invest in a nice set of Torx drivers from Sears, or WIHA.

Consider it an investment in properly maintaining your tools.

Ditto T. Erdelyi.

I heard that Benchmade Torx's are soft and break easily, there smallest size is T6, T5 is the smallest most will need and it's very popular. I highly recommend WIHA, for any knife, let alone the high priced spread.

I just bought several torx (screw) drivers at a Sears Hardware store so I would imagaine that you could buy them at a regular full service Sears. They are displayed by the other screw drivers.
For those of you into Spydercos you need the # 6, # 10, and # 15 torx bits or (screw)drivers. Don't let a salesman talk you into a # 7 torx; it is too big for the little liner torx screws on the Lil Temperance et al. Further examples would be a need for the #15 for the bolt on the Lil Temperance and the # 10 for the bolt on the Gunting.
The little blue box by BM is great in a pinch but the steel seems a bit soft: howevever, great in a tackle box or hunting duffle.
BTW, the screws do work loose over time so keep an eye on the screws. I use loctite to keep them tight but that also seems to work loose over a long period of time with a lot of use.

hmmmm I bought a set at sears for twenty dollars (craftsman). you can get cheaper ones from harbor freight, but your talking about using cheap tools on your knives. some cheap tools are ok, but if you value your cutlery go with something decent.

Good point Rger No. 1 the screws need to be checked and if you've removed any screws or disassembled your knife,(check to see that before disassembling your knife that won't void your warranty)
make sure you use a removeable thread lock/Loctite.

I picked up a set of Ridgid torx tools at home depot tool section for 19 bucks or so two weeks ago.Part#613-738 Has five torx screwdrivers T6 T7 T8 T9 and T10 fits all my knives so far and a few other things I couldnt take apart before.RB
